[Official] Fallout 3 - DLC for 360/PC released!

Also the new Fallout 3 patch:

Thanks for the release date. I saw patch and got a little excited that they might actually fix some bugs but never mind. Ever since that last large patch, when I go into Vats it takes 3-4 seconds for the %'s to load up now. It isn't like there is a framerate drop, it just takes longer.

Now that I've put a 9800GTX+ in my rig, gonna get the PC version of Fallout 3 and play it how it's meant to be enjoyed :p

With mods also :D

ps. LOL -

That video is funny

I killed everyone in Megaton the other day was fun :)

The Pitt has been officially released today :)

Crap, I completely forgot! I posted in the PC Gaming area about anything coming up for PC (games wise) and completely forgot about the last two F3 DLC items. I can't decide if I should just get this and hold onto it until the last DLC comes out to raise the level cap.

I bought it, installed it and cut and pasted the files into my Fallout 3/Data directory and activated with the launcher. I haven't started the quest since I started a new game but I did receive the quest. Can't comment on any graphical glitches but I will when I start the quest.

I was all ready to buy the addon, forgot about it, then once I noticed it was out I suddenly lost all reason to buy it.

A couple of new weapons and a couple of new quests, don't think it's really worth it. I'll probably get broken steel though (I buy F3 for $99, then have to pay another $10 to actually be able to have the proper ending, DLC++;)

Just finished The Pitt, simply, awesome. This is my second favorite game in the last couple years, underneath Dead Space. Yet Fallout 3 has so much more to it, I have spent around 70 hours on the game, got every achievement, explored everything, and such. Loved it so much, wish Dead Space had more things.

Any dates being kicked around for Broken Steel? I am eagerly awaiting it because I haven't' touched the Pitt yet because of the level cap.

Fallout Wiki says Late April/Early May :shrugs:

Any ETA for Fallout 4?

Hopefully we'll see another Elder Scrolls out before another Fallout. F3 was great, but it just rekindled my Elder Scrolls love.

Thanks Rappy, that is what I had last heard but I don't even know if we can count on it for May.

So I am just playing Fallout 3 on my PC, checked it out on the 360 but a bunch of stuff was out at the time so I said I would play it when it was a slow time for new releases, which is now, so I got it for my PC and just started playing....

So a few things...

Holy Crap it looks so much better on a PC than it did on the 360, and I thought it looked real good on the 360. But man it looks absolutely amazing, and I have it at 1900 res and do not even notice a hint of slowdown, it runs so damn nice. I have yet to really pump things up, but it defaulted at High for a lot of things, and it just looks wow. I think this game was definitely slept on when people talked about the best looking games of last year (minus the characters animations of course, everyone looks like they are gliding lol), but for the sheer scope of things, it really is so impressive, and I just love the art direction. It has that drab and dreary look but does not look like every other game out there.

So anyway, I fully admit I am not that good at these kind of games, mainly because I am not all that patient when dealing with them, so can someone just give me some pointers or just some general tips of the best things to do to level up fast?

I am literally still at Megaton, I just talked to Moriarty (sp?), and I had gotten this far on the 360 as well, and I remember I was able to then hack his computer in the back. When I went to hack it this time around, it told me I needed a science skill of 50 (which it very well probably told me that on the 360), so obviously I had done some other stuff last time around, so my biggest question is any advice as to what I can do in Megaton to level up quick?

I also have talked to a few people, so I have the choice of going to the Super Market (or whatever it is called lol), delivering the message for the girl to her parents, or trying to disarm or arm the bomb, so if I recall correctly, I should go to the Super Market first? Right?

Sorry if none of the above makes any sense, but I do not pay much attention to exact names, as you can tell...

Woohoo, I can help my favorite gamer here on Neowin on a game I love! I've hooked up my computer to my TV (Samsung LN32A550 1080p) and play games on there sometimes. I've played F3 on there maxed and just like with your experience, it runs great and looks fantastic.

I would recommend going to the market first because that will get you a bunch of experience. The next thing I did after that was go deliver that note. From there I would do virtually everything Moira has for you when she is making her book. Her quests are easy and give you a bunch of XP.

I guess I don't want to persuade you against science/computer skills but virtually everything that can be hacked has a lock or some easier way of getting in. Hence why my lockpick still was my first one to 100. :p

I would probably disarm the bomb like you said, but do it later on when you have extra skill points to spare because doesn't it need explosive points or something that doesn't get much use anyway?

Any other questions, let me know!

I think you need 35 Explosives to disarm it. I went to the market, activated the protectron (get the ID card) and let him distract the raiders so I could get out, then I attempted going to Minefield and found Big Town, that got me enough experience to disarm it.

Disarming it (and killing Burke, his clothes are snazzy) gets Talon company on your case, but they're an easy source of ammo and guns (got my first laser rifle off of one of them, and a missile launcher off of a raider :/ )

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
