let the games begin: Forza 3 vs GT 5 comparison pictures

Recommended Posts

I personally find 8 cars perfect. GT5 will have obviously 12 cars.. I'm not sure about Forza 3.. I have not noticed how many cars are on track in gameplay but it might very well be 12 as well.

However the more I look at Forza 3 screenshots all over .. especially compared to Forza 2 I find that Turn 10 guys actaully really killed off reflections on the cars. They look very much matte and quite a bit lifeless. I don't know how it will look in motion but I can definitly see they sacrificed something, not sure if it is on purpose or not.

A comparison between Forza 2 and Forza 3 shots:

No, they haven't killed reflection but they have changed, from simple plain the same all over reflection to more realistic falloff reflections.

Falloff reflections are actually very graphically intensive, and is one of the things that will slow down rendering the most, it'?s not actually the reflection, but the falloff.

Essentially instead of being the same level reflective all over, wich most car games use, because it simple(but it make horribly unrealistic super reflective cars). Falloff, and especially the more realistic Fresnel falloff, will make stuff more or less reflective depending ont he angle of the surface from the camera.

Another thing you'll notice with the forza 3 reflections is that they don't just reflect the enviroment, but also other cars.

Dont paste some random online shop site as well they all speculate on release dates, until Polyphony gives a date id take any release dates with a pinch of salt.

If Sony/Polyphony are mouthing out that they can release GT5 whenever they want, Then we can expect it to be released in 2012 with the launch of PS4.

Haha probably but passing off speculation as fact and the reason why there are no screenshots is a bit poor form.

Here we go again....... *yawn*

Wait a couple more weeks and you'll probably have a real release date.

Read that topic correctly, sigh...

It's not "we can release whenever we want, shove off."

It's "we can now release whenever we want because the game is almost complete, stay tuned".

But of course, taking the understanding in the first meaning allows you to run around the forum posting your nonsense about 2011/2012. Jog on.

Source is valid. I put a pre-order for GT5 at GameStop yesterday.. they have street date listed as May 2010. Up until a few days ago they didn't have a SKU.. so yeah this is pretty valid. They don't just put dates in there. The only time when they put undetermined dates is when they know they are getting the title sometime next year so they put 12/31/2009 which means it's coming after new Year. With GT5 they actually have a street date which is - bing - May 2010.

Usually Gamestop dates get pushed further. I've never seen them change the date back. That just doesn't happen.

No need to wait.. sure it will be official.. but it's definitely May 2010. It can only be after that, not sooner.

and that's the meaning we take it as. of course the thing is that's it's BS. If that really was the case the game would be released. Them as a developer couldn't afford not to. and content and all that crap isn't a valid excuse they'd release anything not done yet as DLC. More so, if it was the case Sony would force them to release it so they finally had an actual next gen sim racer

In the video from E3 they show 12 cars. And in your own screenshots it says 12/12.

Number of cars in Prologue is either 12 or 16, short tracks have 12 rest have 16. Some quick searching and you would have seen that.

A few UK sites have it listed between September and November 2009 so... I doubt they can be specific 11 months in advance so i doubt GameStop's is correct.

Hmmm, that source must be right, right? C'mon, game stores are not valid sources, that's a stretch too far. i can list a few sites that say September, doesn't make it any more factual...

I also take anything you say nowadays with a pinch of salt after the whole "hddvd WILL win the format war battle". lol.

They must be correct, they wouldn't put 2009 if it was an undetermined date.

I believe Gamestop more then online sites.. Gamestop is one of the largest game sellers in the States is a B&M store. Their dates are mostly dead on. We've seen leaks for hardware as SKUs and it's always true be it PS3 or Xbox 360 or peripherals or games.

I understand it pains some of you that you will have to wait until May next year but it's not coming out this year, you'll see.

In Europe usually it does come sooner. So I'm guessing around March or April for Europe and May for North America.

So...wait....

People actually buy from Gamestop? Here I thought people were smarter then that...

Eh? What's wrong with Gamestop. I can get latest hits for $19.99 if I trade in 2 games I don't play I get a new one for $20. That's $20 per game I'm trading in. That's not too bad. Sure you could sell those games fro $30 or so but who's gonna hassle. I don't have time for that.

Admit it isn't fact or official though. You're getting flak for making statements like this

And FYI Gamestation is a real shop in the UK, as well as Game  Two who have listed september.

    • AltSendme 0.4.2 is out.
    • Simple answer is yes, you will still get the Windows updates and as long as browser is up to date, you will be good. Only thing secure boot does is protect you against boot level threats and make it harder to install other OS's. I've been looking into this pretty thoroughly lately myself as wifes computer has secure boot disabled plus my other, older computers that run Linux, don't have secure boot enabled. Have seen all kinds of questions about this on the Linux Mint and MX Linux forums. Just don't suddenly enable secure boot now.
