Fire TV Stick 4K with three months of Prime is 50% off today at Amazon UK

Fire TV stick and remote

It's not uncommon for Amazon to run discounts on its first-party products, and today is no different. It's currently offering 50% off of the regular price of the Fire TV Stick 4K and three months of Prime. Regularly priced at £73.96, that puts it down to £36.99 right now, saving you £36.97.

The Fire TV Stick is a dongle that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Once you connect to Wi-Fi, it will automatically sign into your Amazon account (unless you check the box saying it's a gift when you order it), and you'll be able to watch anything from the library of Amazon Prime Video movies and TV shows. Of course, you can also download a variety of apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and more.

A few of its specs can be viewed below:

  • Dolby Atmos Audio
  • Up to 4K Ultra HD with support for HDR, HDR 10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision
  • Supported screen resolution: 2160p, 1080p and 720p up to 60fps.
  • Under the hood: Quad-core 1.7 GHz / 8 GB Storage
  • Model year: 2018

On top of all that, Amazon claims it is the most powerful streaming media stick with a new Wi-Fi antenna design optimized for 4K Ultra HD streaming.

Amazon Prime Movies

Amazon's Fire TV family of products have become popular for a variety of reasons. One is that they're cheap; after all, £36.99 is a very low price for the ability to stream three months of Prime 4K content. Another reason is that because Fire OS is a variant of Android, which means that you can side-load Android apps to supplement the ones you can get from Amazon's own app store.

There's also an option without Prime tacked on, but that only works out £2 cheaper at £34.99 here.
