Kingston offers 'limited supplies' of DDR400

Memory company Kingston Technology today announced "limited availability"" of DDR400 (PC3200) memory modules. Kingston's DDR400 DIMMs are destined for use on motherboards supporting DDR400 memory.

We're not entirely sure how much memory Kingston is able to offer at this time, but availability sure has been limited for some time.

Kingston says it has tested the new modules "on the Agilent 83000 platform to verify engineering specifications. The memory modules have also been tested on the currently available platforms that support DDR400," says a company statement, avoiding the thorny issue of JEDEC validation.

The company has begun shipping limited quantities of the 256MB and 512MB DDR400 DIMMs, and says it expect to begin volume shipments of DDR400 systems in Q4 2002.
