Campaign details have been hard to come by when looking at Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries' next installment of the biggest franchise on Xbox. Game Informer sat down with 343 and talked a little bit about what we can expect from the next campaign of Halo.

Through previous teasers and even an online mini-series, we know Agent Locke is a part of the next Halo and is in some way tasked with finding Master Chief, who has been declared AWOL by the UNSC. Through new details released, we have learned of at least some of the supporting cast of characters that will surround both Master Chief and Agent Locke.

For Locke, three new Spartans that go by the squad name "Osiris" will join him in his quest to hunt the Chief. For the Chief, the Spartan squad Blue Team will be working alongside him for some portion of the game. Fans of the Halo universe might recognize Blue Team, which was originally lead by Master Chief prior to the events of the first game in the series, and is referenced through various books and Halo lore.

Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck, who was originally characterized by TV star Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle) in Halo 3: ODST, makes a return to Halo. Fillion will continue to play the role of Buck in Halo 5 but it hasn't yet been made clear how Buck will tie into the story.

New destinations and exploration will be experienced while progressing through the story of Halo 5, with 343 promising the most ambitious Halo to-date. While Locke will be a playable character and his story will be told, Master Chief's story will still be more of a focal point as he deals with the loss of Cortana and the memories he lives with after the events of Halo 4.
