[Official] Apple WWDC 2011 Keynote

Recommended Posts

Apple takes so long to add these videos to their site. Does anyone know where you can download or watch the keynotes after they're finished?

The video has been online for hours now. Here: http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/11piubpwiqubf06/event/

Also, someone posted it in this threat.

The only thing bugging me is that it's not yet available via their podcast. I was hoping to be able to watch it on a long train ride tomorrow.

Subscribe to the AppleKeynotes podcast, it has all the major keynotes going back to Macworld 2007. (I really wish they'd make some of the older ones available, too.)

But, as noted above, I guess this current keynote isn't on the channel yet.

There is also a shorter video just about iOS 5 on Apple's site.

I haven't watched the keynote but did they really said that GameCenter is now bigger than Xbox Live?

In the iOS 5 video, they said that iDevices are now "the most popular form of gaming" or something, which is probably true if you base it solely on devices sold, which is probably what they're going by.

it is what they are going by... why not compare it to another free gaming service like PSN? im sure their are a ton of more PSN people out there cause PSN is free...

They must have a dedicated LED indicator on the front of the iPhone 5. It's not much use having the indicator on the back and using the full flash, it would drain battery and you can only have one colour. BBs indicators are different colours, and with BeBuzz you can choose custom ones - I have red for texts/BBM, blue for Facebook, turquoise for Twitter, green for WhatsApp, etc. It's low power too so it can flash all day long with no problems.

I've never, ever used this meme before and I swore I never would but ... QFT.

While I don't care about the interface not supporting Dutch, I do care about things like spelling and auto-correction since I don't speak English to my friends and family. Beyond that most people around here have set their phones to Dutch entirely not English, simply because the latter isn't their native language. Microsoft really screwed up in this area, especially because their reputation wasn't that good to begin with due to Windows Mobile 6.x.

[. . .]

I completely agree with you there. Language support for more countries within the operating system and when sending messages should have been a priority of Microsoft's.

Is there any reason why I can't add iOS access to my ADC account? I checked the box to sign up for $99/year, and it says my request can't be processed. Would I have been denied for some reason, or could it just be the servers are being hit right now?

iTunes 10.5 Beta is out there 'in the wild.'

Can't see anything new, other than options for auto downloading Apps and Books bought on other devices.

What exactly is supposed to be the difference between 10.5 beta and the 10.3 release that is supposed to be showing up sometime today? Those features, AFAIK, are supposed to be in 10.3 as well (since they have already gone live on iOS devices).

10.5 is required to use the IOS5 betas. Apart from that I can't see a damn thing different. Guess I should read the release notes? :)

Yup that is the only real change of note. Oh, and a couple of styling changes, to match Lion. Like the volume slider.

Screenshot updated with iTunes as active window.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
