I don't suppose we could get that web map running again? It was nice to get an overall picture of the world.

The dynamic map requires a custom server software as it was a plugin for the server. currently we are running Vanilla Minecraft. (stock from Mojang)

been working trying to get a netbook to run the game so i can play it more when i am not at home but the best i can do is 8 FPS right now :( any have any luck getting the game to run better with an intel 4000 graphics card? technically its not much of a netbook here are the specs.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Intel Mobile Core 2 Solo @ 1.4 Ghz

3Gb DDR 2 RAM

Intel Mobile 4000 Graphics running 1366x768@60HZ 11in Display

250Gb HDD

Sadly Optifine has not been updated yet for the latest version of MC so I cannot load that to test it. I am thinking the thing might just be too slow.

Mac Mini Server, Core i7 2.0GHz + Intel 4000. I get about 35 FPS. I think the limitation there is the Processor, not the graphics card.

nope, dynmape can be used on vanilla servers just fine (the server does need forge installed though)

das any one know what the difacolty is set at it seems to be on hared and i wood like it to go back to what it was at befor pleas.

It is the changes in 1.6 i believe. I personally haven't found it any harder just more zombies are spawning. Apart from that killing them is still as easy as before.

Go mental with torches and that should protect you.

I only started getting really into this a few days ago but now find it hard to stop lmao

yeah put loads of torches up and you will be fine, i have only come across a few Zombies etc apart from from when i seen a fellow gamers house surrounded by them lol

Yeah, I was thinking that might be the case as it is a single core and a single thread it just cannot push that much data.

But MC is multithreaded. Sorta at least. It easily burns through all my 4 cores with lots of stuff around.

His system _should_ be able to run MC, maybe even properly playable with optifine.Which isnt updated to 1.6 yet though.

I lid up a large area on the south side of spawn. The more is lid, the less problems :P and the more mobs in the trap.

This ugly thing, the mob trap. Can be used for easy exp or just automatic material grinding. Open for public use. Its close to spawn so it always stays somewhat active with people around (or that's the idea) its just very very ugly. But better than it was.

And can be modified by anyone who wants to make it look a little bit better (i tried, im not so artistic :() just please do not remove any obsidian blocks in there :P

Oh and for those that havent noticed yet. We're back to good ol bukkit with plugins. I'm off to find me a nice home.

I've added a few plugins so let me know if you notice anything different from the past week.

I guess the thing most people have been asking for is the Map Support.

Can you provide a list of what plugins have been added?

Thanks

In my experience this doesn't actually do anything with the Client itself, you can allocate more memory to the Java VM but the Minecraft sub-process itself will still only sit around using a few hundred MB. If anything you'll just cause more swapping and actually hurt the performance.

This technique is however good for Tekkit/FTB.

I can't check right now - which plug-ins did you add? And is the server on 1.6.2 yet or are you waiting for the official release later today?

    • I spent a good 15 min today trying to get new Outlook to use my default browser instead of forcing links into Edge. That kinda tactic is shady and it sucks.

A browser based on the Blink engine (same in Chrome and Chromium) that is fast, but also a browser that is rich in functionality, highly flexible and puts the user first. A browser that is made for you. Vivaldi is produced with love by a founding team of browser pioneers, including former CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, who co-founded and led Opera Software. Vivaldi’s interface is very customizable. Vivaldi combines simplicity and fashion to create a basic, highly customizable interface that provides everything a internet user could need. The browser allows users to customize the appearance of UI elements such as background color, overall theme, address bar and tab positioning, and start pages. • Also try installing an alternative browser on ChromeOS. You have to enable dev mode and run it as a Linux app. Clunky.
