i have not done vog = vault of glass & how long does it take to do ?

currently at lvl 27

If your team is amazing, you can do it in under an hour. If not, you can expect it to take 3 - 5 hours.

I haven't personally done it, this is just information I've gleaned from Reddit. There's a guide on the destiny subedit that can help you through it.

There are checkpoints that you get throughout the raid that will allow you quit it and then pick it up later. It has to be within a week though.

Sadly i do not have any friends to play the game with so i cannot do anything that does not have match making. Surprisingly the game is still very fun and while the PS3 does not have a lot of active players compared to other consoles.

Personally  I find that the fastest way to get Vanguard Marks is to do the Public Events :D not sure why the game tells you that the quickest way to get them is the strike playlist. i can get 4 Marks from a public event in 5 minutes or 2-3 marks for doing the strike playlist that could take 40 minutes or so depending on how good the group is.

Yeah, on xbox one I have a public events tracker snapped to the side while I play so I can go to an area where there is likely to be a public event at the time.

Yeah public events are definitely the way to go to grind vanguard marks.

I just got the trophy for getting 100 crucible marks in one week last night. I finally don't have to worry about playing crucible over and over again. Hurray.

And the 1.02 is desperately needed. I decrypted several blues engrams (and a legendary!) this weekend that turned into greens. So lame.

Also, bosses in strikes should always drop at least one item or engram for each player. It boggles my mind why this isn't in the game already. It makes finishing a strike so unsatisfying.

As someone who only had time to play the game casually, there was no way I was ever going to get to Legendary or whatever the level is needed in order to do Raids, etc. As such I traded the game into Amazon for $32.87 credit this past weekend.

Thankfully there are a decent amount of games coming out this upcoming month that I plan on playing anyway. So it was real Destiny, and I could see how people who have the time to put in would enjoy the game. I will give credit where credit is due, I really thought the gunplay itself was incredibly well done, but it is just not a game that one can play casually and get a lot out of it. That was my fault though for not researching the game itself more.

Reward system and to get anywhere past level 20 is a PITA.  I dont know enough people to get much farther than level 24.  Most after level 20, requires others to play with in order to get to level 30.  Pugs, suck most of the time or people leaving mid mission.  And little reward for all the grinding you have to do.

This game did not even come close to the hype it generated.

You should get Shadow of Mordor tomorrow, Larry! That's what I'm doing.

The farming process does get boring, they should have at the very least created some new different missions for the daily heroics instead of reusing the story missions over and over.

I reached level 25 without much problem though. I got a few decent blue drops on daily heroics and assaults, and got a legendary helmet and vest playing queen's quests on my own.

They are (some of them at least) quite doable even being a couple of levels below the mission level. It feels a bit like playing dark souls, getting insta-raped if you are not careful :p

I just get bored doing all that my self.  I used to have several people I played Borderlands with but times have changed.

Got the email saying it was shipped from GameFly this morning. (Y)

Between that and Forza Horizon 2, I will have plenty to play.

I you see no one, even on the tower you probably have network issues.

Tower is fine...just other places.

Another things that irritates me about this game. A Legendary engram should yield a legendary item. The fact that it can give a blue is utter BS. Also, you should only get items that goes with your class. I got legendary boots, but for a titan and I am a warlock. Useless to me unless I start a titan.

This games doesnt seem very well thought thru in certain areas.

Also, heard a rumor that Bungie is going to limit spawns to 40 seconds. So there kills any farming anyone has if that is true.

The main issue I have with the game is that the main story is short and the only way Bungie decided to extend the playtime is through repetitive, mindless grinding with the same missions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and overand over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, with the addition of more enemies or making the "bosses" even more bullet spongesque.I'm not even gonna bother trying to get past my current level as I'm just bored of the same stuff constantly with little to no reward in the pointless system the game uses.

With Shadow of Mordor and Forza Horizon 2 coming this week, I probably won't touch Destiny again until the expansion stuff launches, just to get something different

Same here. I have no interest in racing games, as I find them boring as hell, but I've heard nothing but good things about Shadow of Mordor and that type of game is right up my alley. I'm picking it up today, after work.

I feel like I've gotten everything out of Destiny that I can. I finished the "campaign", ground vanguard rep and faction rep to buy a bunch of legendaries, and I'm working on two exotic weapon bounties. But since I can't ever do nightfall missions or raids (thanks Bungies) I don't have any motivation to keep playing. The Crucible is an unbalance mess, and I can't even imagine what it's going to be like in Iron Banner if the "normalized" modes are this bad.

I've also read that Reddit AMA thread with a supposed Bungie employee spilling the beans on the last year of Destiny's development. How the story was cut up and out due to time constraints put on by Activision, lack of focus from Bungie management, and the departure of the lead writer. he also expalined a bit about how the grimoire card BS came to be and why it's not part of the game. Even though it's completely unverified, I can't help but believe it. It completes the other side of the picture that is Destiny, and all of the weird design decisions that went into the final product. It's totally disappointing because it was the only game I was really, really looking forward to.

All of that, in addition to the servers going down on a regular basis, whether due to attacks or poor architecture I don't know, just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

The patch 1.02 is now out..

Summary:
With this patch, we address some widely-discussed concerns with how Engrams are earned and claimed. Strikes have become more rewarding, and the rewards gained from them are more predictable. Also affected is the rotation of maps that appear in the Crucible.

Cryptarch
Legendary (purple) engrams will always produce a Legendary quality item or higher
Note: Legendary engrams that exist in your inventory will change to Rare quality items when the patch is applied. However, decoding these engrams will still produce the same results as before
Rare (blue) engrams will always produce a Rare quality item or higher
Chance for Legendary gear increased
Materials: Ascendant Shards and Ascendant Energy promoted to Legendary quality (from Rare quality)

Rewards
Rare (Blue) and Legendary (Purple) Engram drops added to the potential rewards for:
Vanguard: Tiger Strike Playlist
Daily Heroic Missions (first time per day)
Weekly Heroic Missions (first time per week)

Known issues
When selecting a higher difficulty for daily missions, XP Bonus not show in the reward display
You will still get the XP bonus, you just won't see it in the UI

Crucible
Reduced time limit on Bastion and First Light in Control and Clash from 15 to 12 minutes, bringing them in line with non-vehicle maps in those playlists
Lowered weighting on Bastion and First Light in Control and Clash so they appear less often in those playlists

Saw the patch was live, did the daily strike which says as a reward I'd get a cryptarch engram. Finished it solo and still I received nothing at the end. I'm done with this stupid game, waste of time playing it.

I don't think the patch made every strike give out rewards, I think it just made the rewards more consistent...whatever that means. But I agree with you, completing a strike should reward the players. It's so unsatisfying when the boss doesn't drop anything and then no one (or just you) doesn't get anything in the debrief screen afterwards.

A little random is good. Totally random is stupid. Blizzard found that out the hard way with Diablo 3. Now it seems Bungie needs to learn that lesson too.

its not every strike that gives an engram i thought it was only the Vanguard Tiger Strikes that did?

I finally only need one more piece of legendary to have all legendary (except for my exotic helm) The biggest problem i have right now is needing Ascendant shards to level up the equipment i have :P

I will never get full legendary armor.  I got boots the other day and they were not for my class.  So all I have is gloves that are legendary, that is it.  And I to need Ascendant shards.  I got plenty of spin metal, for now.

Correct.

I feel people are not getting how this game needs to be played.

Vanguard strikes will reward you with engrams during play through but not necessarily as a reward.

People seem to count on engrams waaaay to much.

There are plenty of other ways to get legendary stuff.

Join factions, level them up to rank 3, play crucible, do bounties and patrols, do public events to get vanguard points and marks so you can level up your vanguard rank.

The more of the bounties and vanguard strikes you do you will also get exotic bounties.

Bungie added queen bounties and missions that reward you with legendary armor pieces.

I don't understand how people can't get legendary stuff.

You people need to understand that legendary stuff is not super easy to get for a reason. If they were giving them away they wouldn't be legendary. Play the game, grind and you will get it like the rest of us.

Also, Geoffrey, don't waste too many ascendant materials on your legendary.. Get it up to 27 or so by upgrading 1 or 2 pieces, preferably exotic, and play Raid.

Raid will give you if you are lucky raid legendary gear that you can level up to 30 instead of standard legendary that goes to 27 light.

If you are planning on getting to Lev 30 save ascendant shards for raid armor.

My advice.

I will never get full legendary armor. I got boots the other day and they were not for my class. So all I have is gloves that are legendary, that is it. And I to need Ascendant shards. I got plenty of spin metal, for now.

Do bounties, level up you vanguard rank to 2 and you can buy the boots.

You can get 3 ascendant materials a day. You will get one from your first public event gold, one or two from playing a daily heroic mission on 24 or 28 Lev.

You can also get 12+ ascendant materials by completing the raid and getting loot from chests inside.

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
    • Well I really think the repasting helped if your higher clocks have returned, maybe the next thing to look at is if there is a problem with your case airflow? I guess this because your 3080 has returned to optimal state, but is still staying too warm, which might suggest it was thermal throttling before you repasted, of which the only logical conclusion could be outside factors.
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know by Hamid Ganji Galaxy Z Fold 7 - Image via Samsung The next generation of Samsung foldables is set to be unveiled next month at the second Unpacked event of the year. Samsung’s 2026 foldables are not expected to offer significant upgrades over their predecessors, with the Korean firm instead focusing on design refinements and conventional upgrades such as faster processors and better cameras. However, Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil an all-new passport-style foldable this year to rival Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut this September. Here’s a roundup of everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices ahead of their official debut. When can we expect Samsung’s new foldables? The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 series were unveiled in July, and Samsung is expected to maintain this timeframe in 2026. Based on previous reports from Korean sources, Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on July 22 in London, UK, to pull back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The devices are also expected to hit the shelves a few weeks after launch. However, Samsung has yet to announce an official date. A new naming scheme? One of the most interesting changes we might see this year is a new naming scheme for Samsung’s latest foldables. SamMobile reported that since Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables this year, it has adopted a new naming strategy to simplify product identification for customers. Accordingly, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and will serve as the direct successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The “Ultra” suffix suggests the phone could feature higher-end specifications, such as additional rear camera modules. Samsung’s new passport-style foldable is expected to carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 name without any suffix. This model is reportedly equipped with two rear cameras. No major changes are expected for the Flip model. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 anticipated specs Rumors over the past few months suggest Samsung is preparing several upgrades for its upcoming foldables, although the devices may continue to rely on larger batteries and faster charging speeds rather than dramatic design changes. The primary focus this year is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wide-screen design. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here are the anticipated specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra based on previous leaks: 6.5-inch outer display and 8-inch inner display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,600 nits peak brightness Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage 4.1mm thickness when unfolded and a weight of 210g 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 10MP or 12MP telephoto camera, 10MP cover camera, and 10MP selfie camera 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the device is not expected to be a major departure from its predecessor, although it could become slightly slimmer. Expected specifications include: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 processor 12GB of RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage options 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner dispaly and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED outer dispaly 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 Samsung’s foldables are also expected to launch with Gemini Intelligence, Google’s AI suite for automating tasks in Android ecosystem. Moreover, given current memory and component costs, some Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 variants could see a price hike. Galaxy Z Fold 8 adopts a wide-screen design The centerpiece of the upcoming Unpacked event could be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, previously rumored as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide. This model adopts a passport-style form factor and is expected to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone Fold. Galaxy Z Fold 8 official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here’s what to expect: 7.6-inch primary OLED display and 5.4-inch cover display, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and 4:3 aspect ratio Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera Android 17 and One UI 9 The three new foldable phones are unlikely to be the only devices unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The company is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series.
