What was the last movie you watched? (2014 Edition)

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

8/10

Despite some plot holes finally a summer pop corn movie not taking the viewers as mentally retarded. Almost James Cameron quality. Had a great deal of fun watching it.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

7.5/10

Very good x-men movie.

Chef (2014)

7/10

Honestly expected a little bit more. Not really funny and not really a drama either. Still a fun lighthearted movie worth watching.

Belle (2013)

7.5/10

Great 18th century movie.

Very good x-men movie.

Both are brilliant movies from someone who enjoys sci-fi.   watching xmen was the most fun i had since the original movie.  definately better then the last couple of mediocrities that were done before it.

edge of tomorrow was great too.

this 2 are by far the best sci-fi movies of the 2014 for me.

Wow, that good?

I take neowinians recommendations seriously (for the most part), so imma have to watch this.

I watched this movie a while ago when i was still in my mid 20ies. I did not like it that much back then. I should rewatch it maybe i will understand things i did not back then.

But younger Naomie Watts is worth it anyway

Mulholland Drive 10/10

yeah i liked it too.     would not rate it 10/10,  but a definite must watch.   its pretty crazy..  might rewatch it again soon.

maybe i will understand things i did not back then.

it's david lynch -  i am not even sure it is possible to understand.

You must be ready to be confused and find the meaning of things. Everything, every single shot is important to fully understand the movie. Those are the 10 hints from David Lynch:

1) Pay particular close attention in the beginning of the film: at least two clues are revealed before the credits.

2) Notice appearances of the red lampshade.

3) Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again?

4) An accident is a terrible event . . . notice the location of the accident.

5) Who gives a key, and why?

6) Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.

7) What is felt, realized and gathered at the club Silencio?

8) Did talent alone help Camilla?

9) Note the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkies.

10) Where is Aunt Ruth?

Once you watch the whole movie you can also listen to some analysis like this one (Spoiler Alert):

Have fun ! :)

Thanks! Will watch it later today if possible!

The hobbit: An unexpected journey.

For me I only got around to watching this even though I love anything related to the hobbit or LOTR. I thought it was amazing.

Going to watch Desolation of Smaug tonight.

amazing spiderman 2

i did not like the previous trilogy much, but this incarnation is definitely better!

for a person who can just enjoy a popcorn movie with comic book heroes... this one is one of the better ones.

6/10   and grab popcorn (great with REAL butter and white truffle salt - that i even sneak into cinemas with me (premixed in a ziplock bag) because their default popcorn and flavors are just garbage)

Does, multiple... way too many details... I felt like you can't even blink...

you better not watch zero theorem.

actually, don't bother with it.   it has just as much details, but it is very much different then david lynch.... lost highway is way better, zero theorem is just pure WTF!

Oh man, but Christopher Waltz!

so did you watch it then or not?

i loved lynch movies and, while i love the idea behind zero theorem....

but i just could not enjoy the experience of watching it, as much as muholland drive, and lost highway...

    • Thank god they got rid of the disgusting looking sidebars, and the corner radius looks much better, too. Two things I hated on day one, and never got used to.
    • JetBrains launches Rider 2026.2 EAP 5, bringing several AI improvements by David Uzondu JetBrains has released the fifth EAP version of Rider 2026.2, bringing a faster startup flow with the new non-modal startup screen and quality-check hooks for Claude Code and Codex. In the latest EAP release, Rider now has newly bundled "quality-check" hooks that run background tests on code edits before the external agent proceeds. For example, after Claude Code rewrites a class, Rider immediately triggers a PostToolUse hook that analyzes the code for syntax errors and formatting warnings. It then passes those findings back to the model as feedback, allowing the agent to fix its own output before finalizing the task. If Rider detects compilation errors, the IDE prevents the agent from treating the task as complete, while minor formatting warnings simply help guide the model toward better output. The "Explain with AI" feature can now tackle tricky build errors directly from the console, helping .NET developers who frequently wrestle with multi-targeting failures and MSBuild errors. JetBrains introduced Explain with AI back in the 2024.1 release cycle. With this feature, instead of forcing developers to copy long diagnostics into a separate chat window, Rider now lets you trigger these explanations directly from the error source. In similar EAP news, JetBrains recently opened the first EAP for IntelliJ IDEA 2026.2, with features that appeal to both those who are into AI-assisted coding and those who prefer "classic" manual development. For manual developers, the release adds revamped dependency completion for Maven and Gradle build scripts, which pulls data directly from the local cache to suggest relevant versions. It also brings the Spring Debugger update, displaying security indicators next to endpoints to visualize secured routes during runtime. In addition to database migration tools for Flyway and Liquibase, this build introduces a Hibernate debugger that shows the exact SQL or HQL queries that the framework plans to execute, letting developers jump directly to the Java code that triggered them.
