Sorry guys, after talking with Chorpeac, we only need "0" more BETA testers, then thawillb> be it. So say if you want to BETA test!

Hey guys, well me and Chorpeac have been working really hard to try and get NeoRequest? into the big stages. We think its coming together, but its taking a while, we still have problems but at the moment its not looking too bad. Chorpeac has been constantly working on the c(even while working! Terrible.)And I, have just been doing tons of graphics and trying to all get them to fit together nicely and get the to become Transparent! Nast:devil:vil: But now we have been able to get to work and we have managed to get it to the stage where it all works and it looks good. So below are the Screenshots of NeoRequest?.

56k warning, these images are large, so they may take a while to load, be warned.[/i]d.NeoRequest? Login PagePage

Ah yeah I see what you mean now. Yeah I like the feedback idea. Let's see if other members concur.

The collaborative projects sounds interesting. That would definitely take some planning. Though the design right know allows something like that, since more than one artist can accept a request. A request has a "Other" type, which allows some flexibility. The commenting could be used for some sort of collaboration. It's probably not to scale of the magnitude that it would be though.

I'm anxious to see the feedback. :)

You know what that means, if you ever get more spot for beta I'd gladly take one. I'm really curious to see how it's set-up so far :)

sure dude, if we have some more room, I'll let JMann take care of adding extras, he's been coordinating that right now.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments and thanks for the ideas JBO, nice work. What do you guys think about a Feedback system?

Yesterday Chorpeac added the Search function, so that has been added and it works very nicely. Now, someone mentioned about the icons, so you got me thinking, later on after I have finished setting up Linux on my other PC I will see what I can do in designing some more for the layout, they may not be available to do that, but I will try.

But this is what I want you to do: Can anyone give me an idea for what you would like on the buttons, like image wise etc. Tell me what the buttons should look like and what they have on them and the font that should be used! Tell me and I suspect I will be able to do it, as this is your program and I want your thoughts on how things should look! So tell me and I will see what I can do, I want ideas!

Regarding BETA testers, all the people who have asked I have written you down and you won't be forgotten! If someone drops out or me and Chorpeac decide that we should have more people to BETA test you will get a PM from either me or Chorpeac. Ok?

So send you comments, I wanna know them!

JMann.

I would also like to know how NeoRequests work.

Are you going to use Neowin's Members Database??

or are you going to use a completely new database??

How will the requested image be given to the requester?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but is NeoRequest ACTUALLY a trademark? Certainly in the UK it's not permissable to use the TM sign in a product name unless it is actually legally trademarked.

I just read the pages, and i got the pm to.

Also, what language is is being coded in, VB.NET or C#, or something else?

Edit: i think the buttons should be like the neowin buttons, cause it's so closely related.

Also, i was asking what language it's coded in, not what server technology it was using, im interested in those kind of things.

Sorry, as you can tell I did not do too much in the side of coding. I now it was definately coded in ASP because thats what Chorpeac specialises in. I will see what I can do about the Neowin Buttons.

The system is using a MySQL DB. We are hoping to be able to authenticate against the neowin users database, so you guys won't have to create new logins for this. You keep your names, and you don't have another login to remember. If I am required to have our own users database, then so be it.

A final product from an artist will be delivered through a URL being submitted to the system. Neorequest will not be able to physically store the images/files. However, I was considering displaying the image from the system, instead of just a hyperlink. We will see how the beta testers say.

On the button,s maybe you could put a style system in, so we could choose what it looks like and so on?

Just an idea, might be to complicated thogh,

Tim

Can I make a suggestion? Whatever graphics/icons you decide to go with, the overall interface needs to be smaller, ie. the placement and overall size of the nav buttons. We designers may have big screens, but many of the people eposting requests do not!

Always take a moment to look at your site though 800 x 600 eyes!

Yeah I have been working with Jmann to try to come up with an alternative navigation menu. One that isn't so big. Thanks for the suggestion.
