uniacidz
Tools > Options > Library Tab > Uncheck the first box. Man, thats a really bad default setting by Microsoft. Why on earth have default to delete files from computer when you delete from library. JustGeorge
Man, thats a really bad default setting by Microsoft. Why on earth have default to delete files from computer when you delete from library. They do go to the Recycle Bin so its not that bad. Why would you want to delete a song and it not get deleted from the directory is beyond me. ShaneSparky_YYZ
I belive that leaking Betas are illegal. Check the EULA. It's on softpedia, so I'm guessing this isn't illegal http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Vi...Player-11.shtml They do go to the Recycle Bin so its not that bad. Why would you want to delete a song and it not get deleted from the directory is beyond me. Well that isn't that bad but still :o Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460361-windows-media-player-11/page/12/#findComment-587511693 Share on other sites

Just because a big site like softpedia is hosting it, doesn't mean it's legal. They actually have quite a few downloads which are technically illegal on there. For those of you bitching about us not allowing links, make sure you understand the history behind our reasoning before getting all high and mighty. Or maybe you guys would prefer MS take Neowin down again. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460361-windows-media-player-11/page/12/#findComment-587511711 Share on other sites

Pink Floyd Veteran Posted May 15, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 15, 2006 hey all, after seeing screenshots, I have 2 questions 1. Can you add Playlists within a folder? Exemple: You have 4 pink floyd albums and I'd like to add those 4 albums to a folder named Pink floyd in wmp without having to add my entire pink floyd folder which contain way more than 4 albums. 2. Is there a place where WMP stock the playlists where you can backup em up in case of windows crash or simply because I like to do backups? :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460361-windows-media-player-11/page/12/#findComment-587511775 Share on other sites

Or if you mean only add certain folders to the library, yeah, you can do that too. Or if you want to put Atom Heart Mother on Ignore in the Add to Library dialog... you can do that too. :)2: Yeah, under %mymusic%\My Playlists. That's been a minor feature since v10. Only v9 and earlier stored the playlists internally (non-regularly accessible on the file system). kierant
oops DUH.. i should of figured that out LOL.. I wondered the same thing because I can enable the toolbar easily enough but when I actually minimise wmp the toolbar shows up with the wmp10 gui and I am unable to press anything to play/pause/stop the music etc. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Put simply, I have WMP11 installed which works fine but the toolbar shows up as WMP10 and does not work: WMP11 as expected: WMP10 toolbar, not expected: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/460361-windows-media-player-11/page/12/#findComment-587512325 Share on other sites
Preppy Veteran Posted May 16, 2006 Veteran Share Posted May 16, 2006 The "old taskbar" specifically means that the old taskbar is still loaded by the shell. Rebooting should get that back to normal v11 goodness. If not, PM me if you hit this issue once you are running the actual beta. Zimmedon
Odd, currently I'm using build 4826 (the leaked version) and the toolbar is as expected (the WMP11 look). Perhaps you need to uninstall WMP (from Windows components) and reinstall WMP11 Edit: Or what zachdms said. Island Roots
It's a shame that WMP11 doesn't support AAC natively/vanilla. It does seem to play AAC files when they're manually added but it doesn't automatically recognize and add them to your library. This causes a problem as over 1,900 of my 2,200 songs are in AAC format. Looks like I'm still using iTunes, which is a shame. The interface of WMP11 along with its low use of resources is amazing.
