OMG, I got a warning! Now what?

Ahh - I'd like my warning meter removed. It's ridiculous to have it there when I have 0% on it anyway.

Bring back banned members while we are at it
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.......

Well, you are the only one that sees it anyways....

I think that IPB didn't really think that part through well enough. Considering members don't see each others warning levels, I find it dumb that the space the warning meter takes up is still there. So even if a post is particularly short, the whole thing takes up more space because of the user column on the left. All of that wasted space adds up :/

It's either empty space, or space with more info to ignore. The space itself will always be there. ;)

Please contact us privately so no one else has to see the dirty laundry.

But the thing is that I contacted the person that warned me. And an admin too. They never replied back. (Maybe because I was using Safari then, and they got blank messages?)

Like they did over my question over the subscription's money order.

Don't get me wrong, but there was a time when a mod would reply to us in a zip.

This is a little off topic, but I thought it might help with the space issue. I was annoyed at having to scroll forever to read a bunch of one line replies. So, I ask for help and got a solution to this issue, at least for me. So, if you use Firefox and Stylish, you may find this style interesting. It hides all user details until you hover your mouse pointing under the user's name. Then it displays that users Info only.

It's made public under my user name, but I didn't really do anything in the making of it. That part is explained on the page. I love it! I mean it makes reading Neowin a LOT faster. And NO it does not block ads.

No offense to the developers (of the site and themes), as I know you can't please everyone. Just thought I'd post since you all was talking about the space.

I have a feeling this could be adapted to use with Opera too.. so feel free to do so. It's just a few lines of code. Enjoy!

I hate to be a moaner here, but I think one of my warnings should be taken down by now. Is it possible to see when I got the warnings if you keep records of them?

Everything is fine. You're not due for one, yet. I checked the logs. For more specific info such as dates, you'll have to PM me.

Maybe BUT your signature is also in your post. So when you have a large signature (the max you can have) and you make a short post, you'll still end up having a lot of white space on the left because it has to fill your post. ;)

From my understanding that it still shows when there 0% because people kept pm'ing staff to see what their % was so the coderators made a quick hack.

How does the automatic warn remove system work? Does it go by the date of the warn that you received or does it go by your latest warn? Im just wondering since i think in a couple months or so some of my old warnings will go away however i dont know if my new warn is going to reset the time

New warns do reset the time, it goes by the latest warn. No point in us warning you only for you to receive a reduction the next day.

i think in a couple months or so some of my old warnings will go away

When you get an automatic warn reduction, it will only remove one warn every 6 months. It doesn't matter if you get warned 3 times in one day, 6 months down the line, only 1 of those 3 warns will be removed every 6 months.

    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
    • Does it have couch co-op is the question I have here.
