How long of you guys been playing to already fight Big Daddies?

I have gotten the telekinesis and am making my way back to the barricade I have to blow up, but I have yet to come across a Big Daddy other than seeing and hearing one walking.

Granted I take my time and like to explore and really am obsessed with hacking everything and I refuse to use my auto hacks I have found yet, but I feel like from reading everyone's responses I must be taking my sweet ass time.

If you pause the game, at the bottom center is shows you the Little Sisters for the section of the game you're in - how many there are and if you've gotten (rescued/harvested) them. I believe there are only two in the part you're in.

Heh. I enjoy hacking. I think I've only used autohack/buyout to hack health stations if I'm in a rush, and that's usually not often since those are easy to hack. But I definitely enjoy exploring and it's payed off big a couple of times.

i havent got the game but why didnt you just attack the big daddy you saw go by?

He was in a hallway across the water from me. I was in one hallway, and the sea was between us. Hope that makes sense. So I could only see him and hear him, was not near him.

Yep, you are right, there are two, as I noticed that during the pause screen as well. Just curious why I have not crossed their path yet. I already have an idea how I am going to take him out as well.

Definitely. Exploring has really paid off for me so far. I have found quite a few goodies that are obviously good to have.

I believe it's about timing; they seem to be in certain places at certain times. For me it seems like I just stumble across them, but you might want to backtrack some more in your exploration to see if they've ended up somewhere you just were.

Thats what I figured. Honestly, I am in no rush to encounter them. LOL

Also, I only skimmed through the comments on the previous pages since I am at work, but is everyone saving the little girls? Am I the only evil ****** who plans on taking them out?

Heh. No you arent  I saved the first one (the one that's pretty much just given to you), but I've harvested all the rest (I think it's like 4 or 5 now that I've harvested). Powerups galore for me. I get the feeling it might bite me in the ass later on, but I'm over it :p

I rescue all of them! :innocent: << (That's me)

You may think you're getting more powerups by harvesting, but as I've rescued all of them, about every two I get a gift for being nice, including 200 ADAM. I believe it works out to be more than what you get by simply harvesting them ;)

Oh yeah, still, it only works out to 40 ADAM less than by purely harvesting them, and I believe the bonus items even it out. Plus you get to feel all warm and fuzzy! :)

I'm in Arcadia as well, but pretty far in it. I haven't played too much, not because I get bored, but because I don't have too much time with school and work.

Meh. I've bought all but one of the powerups (I didn't have the 20 ADAM's that it cost) that I possibly could, and I think right now I have the ADAM's from one harvested sister, but I haven't gotten to a Gathering Garden or whatever it's called.

I beat the game... it's a pretty awesome experience, but whatever review said 25 hours is BS unless you play through it a couple of times or try and go to every area (which I had thought I did, but apparently not). It's still a long game, though, don't get me wrong.

I ended up getting 710 GS or so just playing through pretty much. I saved all the little sisters, though. I played through on easy, as I normally do a first go-around. Not a hard game at all on easy (yes, yes, I know it shouldn't be, only stating).

Ending was pretty anti-climactic though, IMO.

For those of you having trouble finding little sisters... there are tons of big daddies that roam the levels. Just follow one until he calls a little sister out of those hole things.

 I killed like 3 of them when they were alone...

My collectors edition arrived this morning, the tip of the big daddies drill is broken off, only a small chip mind but still grrr. Anyone know how I go about getting a replacement?

Dude that sucks :/

I was a bit worried that mine would be broken but it's fine :)

I think the developers are sorting out a replacement plan and they'll announce the details when everything is sorted :)

i preordered mine from GAME and expected it today; guess what, the effing postie didnt turn up, its now 10 mins after the latest he has ever come :(

At least you can play it, I've had mine arrive at work but I've got no console. All I can hope to do tonight is pretend the big daddy in my CE is real. :(

    • Xbox Insiders get Xbox 360 achievements and Gamertag character upgrades by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft is continuing its fast-paced update schedule for Xbox Insiders. Today, the company announced a new slate of features it is rolling out to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, which includes an expansion to the gamertag system, Xbox 360 achievements, and more. The unique Gamertag that Xbox users can choose for their profile is getting more characters. Instead of the 12-character limit, Insiders will now be able to get a Gamertag that's 15 characters long. The 12-character limit will still apply to Gamertags that are not unique or contain any non-Latin characters. Meanwhile, Microsoft is adding Xbox 360 game support to its Game Hubs. Selecting an installed Xbox 360 game on a modern Xbox console will now show achievement progress, captures, and other information. Achievement pop-ups are back for these classics too, which should be good news for achievement hunters. The next change is for Xbox players who can't wait to jump into their games when an update is required. "If a game requires an update and is available to stream through your Game Pass membership, you can start playing immediately with cloud gaming while the update downloads in the background," explains Microsoft. The final change of this Insider update is once again to the game cards. Insiders will find that all games, both released and upcoming, will now have a simple button to add to their profile's wishlist, making the process much easier from a single place. This Xbox update is rolling out today to Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring. As usual, Microsoft aims to bring it to more Insiders over time before they reach all Xbox owners. Head here to find out how to join the Xbox Insider Program to get a chance to test these features and upcoming ones on both consoles and PC.
