You've apparently never seen this...

yup...apparently europe is clueless just how popular SUV's and Pickups can be. Dodge Rams come now with 345HP Hemi engines with 500HP V10's as options on the R/T's. Makes the tiny Civics and Beemers look sad and slow.

Bite down on that Honda fanboys!

BTW, A BMW can beat up at speed a Pick-Up very easy and a BMW is not used for the same things as a Pick-Up so you cant match those..

You're right...BMW's and RAM's are very different...RAM's are just allaround better vehicles.!

:D

Each to their own dude.. a few points you should note about European taste in cars, and reasons for it :

* Some people (myself included) think that those SUV's and pickups look as ugly as sin.. sorry, but its true. I would rather drive pretty much any Honda, BMW or VW than one of those things. Big really isn't always better.

* You guys get fuel, cheap as water over there.. yea, I know you guys complain about cost of fuel in the USA but believe me, it costs you nothing compared to what it costs Europe. So for most of us, running a 370BHP+ motor is basically impossible because of the terrible fuel consumption that those big V8's and the like offer.

* And as unlikely as it sounds, a lot of people are concerned about the environment - as I said, economy & SUV are two words that do not go hand in hand. My VW Corrado is the 2 litre/16v model - amusingly enough most people I talk to here in the UK consider that to be 'excessive' and 'powerful' - compared to the V8's in those trucks, it looks like a lawnmower.

So before you give us "Bite down on that Honda fanboys!" you need to really look into the reasons behind why they aren't so popular here.

hi heres my summer play car you all will think its a girlie motor but hey hehehe try it with the Rover V8 3.5 carb model outta an old rover Vittesse shoehorned into it then call it girlie.

Nice seeing all the car "######" larf at lights because it has twin rear pipes they all think its fake until i press the right pedal.

Id think their smiles are wiped off their faces but i wouldnt know because im a qtr mile down the road by time they get into second gear :p

Suspension and brakes and alloys have been replaced since but its currently being remodded with a new nose and a new bodykit.

After all its winter up here and its a jappy import.

Having to make do with my 91 Toyota Corolla gti-16 for now roll on easter :D

....with the Rover V8 3.5 carb model outta an old rover Vittesse shoehorned into it....

Heh.. what better way to make the Nova boys look like complete and utter morons, than when you hammer off the lights in that craftly little sleeper :)

yaaaay found it ere it is

the mods on this are

45mm lowered and uprated shocks

cross drilled and vented discs all round

induction kit, powerboost valve and full scorpion s/steel exhaust system inc manifold

alloys etc also as u can see

pushes out 159BHP now not bad for a wee 1600cc mp i no?

i plan to get a 2ltr Celica engine as it fits straight in with slight mods and if you leave the 1600 gearbox u basically have the 90s spec toyota rally car :D

Yeah, sure that why a RAM eats alot more gas than a BMW: It's american and americans are EVIL! Everything they make is for high usage of gas and thats why Everyone has RAM's and not BMW's. The price is mostly the same... BMW 150 000$ RAM 50 000$ Guess why? :p

The BMW will beat the Ram assuming the road you are on only calls for four inches of ground clearance.

Those who fail to see the appeal of the pickup or SUV have never towed a boat through the woods to their favorite fishing hole, or driven miles down the beach in search of the ultimate bonfire, etc.

everyone has their own preference...but once you pass 21 you won't care about niggin' yer hondas/ etc...up....

guarantee you if you pull up into the same place as me...gas station, grocery store, club....wherever...my car gets the attention ;) so what if you can outrun me :p mine is sexy and so is...well poop....can't see now...dude recently posted a nice new ride

actually go and do your research before u compare everything to a super small VW deisel engine or a Honda/Toyota hybrid car and compare it to anything anyone has every built, if u want to compare two similiar cars, go check the nissan altima and the chevy malibu, both are cars in the exact same class targeted to the exact same people and share similiar drivetrains and body size and engine... and you will see that an american V6 produces better gas mileage (3 miles better) than most european and japanese V6 engines... youre comparing that dodge ram SRT-10 with an 8.3L Dodge Viper engine to a 3.3L BMW M3 or maybe an M5 engine which are upto less than half the size of the 8.3? of curse the bmw will get better mileage u dumbass... and if u want to talk about mileage and nothing else, go see the corvettes 5.7L engine which no other car company in the world can match the mileage of aroun 29 MILES A GALLON, most 4cylinder engines barely do that(altima 4cyl 2.5L does 1 more mile a gallon than the more than twice as big corvette motor), MOST V6's (max 4L) CANT do 28miles a gallon!!!! go check for yourself http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/library/...ndex_fuel.htm... now youre telling me americans are evil gas sucking people? go tell BMW or Mercedes to make me a 5.7L engine that can produce 28Miles a gallon and pump 400horsepower for less than $45,000 and come back and tell me who is sucking all that gas...

and the reasons why american cars have big engines is because here, people can drive cars and trucks almost anywhere they want, from the feild to the city, and these trucks demand big towing power, can a 4cylinder turbo deisel with no toruque pull anything more than the tires the car rides on???... now tell me do u even know what a Hemi engine is? probably the most powerful engine per litre or "cc"... infact the old 69 hemi engines can sell for more than most BMW's or mercedes cars

You've apparently never seen this...

that ram srt-10 is sweet as hell, supposed to run 0-60 in 5secs and beat the lightning in the quarter mile!

and btw, impullfusion, that Ram SRT-10 is probably faster than ALL bmw's except for the M3 and is probably as fast as an M5... im not saying it will beat it on a racetrack with tight turns and whatnot, but the RAM SRT-10 is faster

Chicane-uk if you ever wanna sell your corry gimme a shout dood ;) they are by far the classiest VW since da BUG (i have one of those too BTW) 1302S but slowly rotting away in my drive :( my first car!

Hehe.. sure thing :)

They are great cars.. expensive to keep on the road (mine has had its fair share of bills, believe me) but worth it when you take it out for a spin. *Still* gets peoples attention despite the design being 14 years old. And still goes pretty well :)

mxp - why in the world would you buy a civic and a integra.

i agree taht japanese cars are cool, but not that cool.

civics and integras just arent fast. period. thats all there is to it. yes, you can make them fast, but buy the time you spend that much money, not to mention on every single part of the car just to handle the power, and make it not just cheap rice, but a real car, you could have afforded a real car..

I was big in the street racing scene when i was in high school, and i swear, i have never seen a civic or integra beat anything but trash.

i drove a mitsubishi eclipse gsx, AWD pushing about 20 lbs of boost, and although i had done alot to my car, made it fast, and wasted alot of money... it stillllll was not thaaaaat fast.

i mean, any bmw m series or porche, or even something cheaper would have beaten it.

i thought it was cool then, but now i just dont understand it. It just seems like a waste.

if you want to have something fast that you could have afforded, move to like a supra, or IMO a Mits 3000 gt vr4 would be the best,

you are looking at a v6, with twin turbos, in a AWD chasis... no integra can beet that... and you can still mod that for cheap..

i dunno, i guess there cool if you want teen agers to look at you and gawk just because there is some stupid letter on it, or maybe i am just ignorant, but to me, what a waste of cash.

and far as selling it to pay for school, good choice. I had to get rid of my baby and get something cheaper and more sensible for university also, and i have never regretted it. The education I am recieving is waaay more valuable...

peace guys.

a 4 cylinder turdo diesel has around the same torque as a 6 cylinder......my dad's chyrsler voyager (2tonne) can easily pull a 2 tonne caravan and it only a 2.5 tubo diesel.

this isnt a war btw ppl....the europeans just dont understand why you need a truck as a car? do u really go off road that often?

    • I will keep my current devices for several years... no planning in upgrading until these devices stop working. Too pricey.
    • Apple raises MacBook and iPad prices as memory costs surge by Karthik Mudaliar Apple has raised the U.S. prices of several MacBook and iPad models, including the MacBook Neo, which it launched for $599 less than four months ago. The company’s cheapest laptop now starts at $699, while some MacBook Pro configurations have increased by $300. The changes affect the MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Apple has not changed the hardware or storage included with these models, so customers are simply paying more for the same configurations. Here is how the new US pricing compares with the previous starting prices: Product Previous price New price Increase MacBook Neo $599 $699 $100 13-inch MacBook Air, 512GB $1,099 $1,299 $200 14-inch MacBook Pro, 1TB $1,699 $1,999 $300 16-inch MacBook Pro $2,699 $2,999 $300 11-inch iPad Air, 128GB $599 $749 $150 13-inch iPad Air, 128GB $799 $949 $150 11-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $999 $1,199 $200 13-inch iPad Pro, 256GB $1,299 $1,499 $200 The updated prices are already appearing on Apple’s U.S. online store. The MacBook Neo increase will probably attract the most attention. Apple introduced the laptop in March for $599, pitching it as a more affordable Mac for students and buyers considering Windows laptops or Chromebooks. It uses an A18 Pro processor and originally undercut Dell’s new $699 XPS 13 by $100. Following the increase, the two laptops now have the same starting price. The M5 MacBook Air has also lost the price Apple promoted when it launched in March. The 13-inch model arrived with 512GB of storage for $1,099, while Apple’s store now lists the MacBook Air range as starting at $1,299. The 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 chip and 1TB of storage has gone from $1,699 to $1,999. Apple has made similar changes to its iPads. The recently released M4 iPad Air, which launched at the same $599 starting price as its predecessor, now starts at $749 for the 11-inch version. The 13-inch version has risen from $799 to $949. The iPad Pro increases are larger in dollar terms. Apple’s 11-inch M5 iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, up from $999, while the 13-inch version has moved from $1,299 to $1,499. Both base models still include 256GB of storage. Apple blamed the increases on the rapidly rising cost of DRAM and NAND flash, which provide system memory and device storage. The company told Reuters that it had tried to shield customers from the increases but could no longer absorb them. “We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” Apple said. Tim Cook had already warned that price increases were coming. Cook said Apple’s existing component inventory had softened the immediate impact, but that higher memory costs would increasingly affect the company after the June quarter. Much of the pressure comes from the construction of AI data centers. Memory manufacturers are directing more production toward high-margin server products, leaving PC, tablet, and smartphone makers competing for the remaining supply. Apple has not said whether the new prices are temporary or whether further increases are planned. For now, the changes show that even Apple’s purchasing power has not been enough to keep the AI-driven memory shortage away from consumer devices.
    • Ventoy 1.1.16 is out.
    • This is a none story - these low volume Chinese models will always get new experimental features first because Apple and Samsung can't produce them in huge volume to meet demand.
    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for Dark Scrolls, Empulse, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The final update of June for Nvidia's cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is now available, and it is touting support for six more games. The company is also drawing subscriber attention towards the summer sales kicking off across stores, so they can stock up on more cloud-supported titles. Of course, the Steam Summer Sale is the biggest promotion, which is kicking off later today. "Supported Steam games can be streamed across devices with GeForce NOW, making it easy to buy a game once, keep progress synced and pick up where the gameplay left off on PCs, Macs, handheld devices, phones, TVs and more," says the company. "In other words, the Steam Summer Sale brings the deals; GeForce NOW adds the flexibility." Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active as well. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, available June 22) SAND: Raiders of Sophie (New release on Steam, available June 22) Deer & Boy (New release on Steam, available June 23) EMPULSE (New release on Steam, available June 24) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) With the June expansions coming to an end, Nvidia should be announcing its July GeForce NOW plans next week. Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.
