Binary Share Posted September 9, 2008 I can't find the option to get rid of store links in 8.0 :\ Why would I want to buy a song I already own?
majortom1981 Share Posted September 9, 2008 My poor old touch... The only thing added to the ipod touch 2g was volume buttons and a speaker. Nothing exciting. so basically the are pretty much the same.
giga Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2008 I can't find the option to get rid of store links in 8.0 :\ Why would I want to buy a song I already own? I use this: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/09/02/terminal-ti...es-arrow-links/
12Iceman Share Posted September 9, 2008 Has anyone said for sure whether the Push API will not be coming in v2.1 of the iPhone OS?
Boo Berry Share Posted September 9, 2008 And what's the option for that in the Windows version? They also did away with the option to deal with the Genre column. =(
Binary Share Posted September 9, 2008 I use this: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/09/02/terminal-ti...es-arrow-links/ I don't want the links at all though. This has always been an option under the General prefs.
39 Thieves Share Posted September 9, 2008 Genius sounds great. Yeah, it's not.
duritz Share Posted September 9, 2008 if you want gps then just get an iphone. there is no way to get data unless they sourced the gps aspect of the itouch to tomtom or garmin etc.
Ultraviolet Share Posted September 9, 2008 Big disapointment from me I'm afraid. :( They've killed the classic and not left anything in it's place.
Boo Berry Share Posted September 9, 2008 Does anyone know where they store the settings for iTunes? I'm going to see if I can hunt down where 7.7 stores the settings for Genre browser view and iTunes store links and see if I can apply them somehow to 8. :)
magik Share Posted September 9, 2008 What's the verdict of iTunes 8 on Windows Vista? Do you still get the BkSoD?
Digitalx Share Posted September 9, 2008 if you want gps then just get an iphone. there is no way to get data unless they sourced the gps aspect of the itouch to tomtom or garmin etc. If i want gps i will not pay $979 for it and a mediocre telco service.
magik Share Posted September 9, 2008 If i want gps i will not pay $979 for it and a mediocre telco service. So don't. Either stop complaining or get a stand-alone GPS device.
Boo Berry Share Posted September 9, 2008 No BkSoDs here yet. Still trying to disable the Genre view and the iTunes Store links.
Snakehn Share Posted September 9, 2008 iTunes is telling me that software update 2.1 for touch is available but then click download and install, i get an error saying "the requested source was not found.
PL_ Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2008 This is pretty cool, I like the new grid view, but it does draw attention to my missing missing album art :( My genres are an utter mess, and I'm surprised that it doesn't recognize Indie Rock, Industrial, Instrumental or Metal, yet it recognizes things like Comedy, Gospel, Dance Hall and Bandas Sonoras. Irritating how grid view doesn't play everything. Genius is...not as good as I thought :/ Why do I need an iTunes account?
Googintosh Share Posted September 9, 2008 iTunes is telling me that software update 2.1 for touch is available but then click download and install, i get an error saying "the requested source was not found. iTunes tells me that a new iPod software version (2.1) is available but requires iTunes 7.7.1. This after I installed iTunes 8.
Chemaz Share Posted September 9, 2008 not sure i like this Genius feature, mainly as its taken sodding ages to scan my library, admitidly a little big at 10,000 tracks but still, has one of my cores maxed out and its taken half an hour to do 40% lol. And not sure if i like it scanning my library :ninja: then uploading "something" to apple, bettter be anonymous lol
HilariousNinja Share Posted September 9, 2008 Is anyone else having trouble for the installation of 8? It just keeps on wanting to close explorer for some reason?
Chemaz Share Posted September 9, 2008 at first i did, the installer kept crashing at the end, so unintalled ituens and quicktime restarted comp and installed fine
Boo Berry Share Posted September 9, 2008 Now they messed it up on Vista (probably XP too) where iTunes doesn't open maximized. =|
RadishTM Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2008 Had to resize the window manually. Radish?
giga Veteran Share Posted September 9, 2008 Yeah, it's not. Eh? It's fine for me. Some of the suggestions are a bit off, but Genius gradually improves as it learns from other users.
