Looks good!

But...

LOL looks like a god fight could go through, between her legs without her even noticing ....

Uhhhh "her"?

Did you check the face, and apparent goatee?

It's not a "her", it's an "it"

Ahhh so they do!

But they should really have "man face" and "stubble" tied to male models only

Awesome, finally a release date. Can't wait. (Y)

Has anyone heard any concrete info on whether or not developers will be able to put in avatar junk for achievements (much like how some gamerpics can only be unlocked by getting the achievement in game)?

The New Xbox Experience requires 256MB of storage

X3F is reporting that Xbox 360's upcoming avatar customization feature will require 256MB storage. According to Microsoft: "The New Xbox Experience is available this fall through a free download to anyone with an Xbox 360 system, a broadband connection and a storage device of either a hard drive or 256MB memory unit or larger." The New Xbox Experience hits November 19th.

^^ That title is misleading, as they say themselves that the avatar customization feature is what requires the space. Not necessarily the entire NXE. And, AFAIK, the Avatar is optional.

I thought everyone had to create and avatar on bootup of the new NXE?

Pretty sure they do.

Where it may be optional is places it's displayed.

I'm not so sure about that. I remember reading/hearing about how you can still use Gamerpics if you'd like. Maybe the Gamerpics can be used on the Friends List representation and you do still need an Avatar, but it could also be that the Avatar is completely optional.

Also, the keyword custom Avatar was used. So, assuming you don't have 256MB of space, you'd probably just get a default Avatar (just like you got a default Gamerpic pre-NXE) and wouldn't be able to customize it.

Either way, the bottom line is that title is misleading and not true.

It is a little misleading, but a 256mb card is still needed.

a 256MB memory card is required for the NXE and Avatar customization, BUT doesn't say how many MBs out of the 256MBs are needed for the update itself.

Part that's misleading is you might still have say 40mb left on your 256mb card after the update, where as above it makes it sound like 256mb is used.

But, again, it says Avatar customization. I doubt the NXE wouldn't work on non-HD Xbox 360s.

No, read it.

It says "NXE AND Avatar Customization."

Then also,

What's guaranteed is that 64MB card owners or those who have no storage medium are out of NXE and Avatar luck.

Going by this source obviously being valid.

But we're basing our discussion on this source, so better understand what it's saying correctly.

I personally doubt NXE can't be installed on consoles, that would be daft, but that source is claiming that...

And, AFAIK, the Avatar is optional.
Avatars are compulsory on the Xbox 360

There's no two ways about it, when the new Xbox Experience comes out later in November all Xbox 360 users will HAVE to adopt one of the cutesy, non-threatening personas as part of their avatar. Microsof's Aaron Greenberg noted that "We're forcing you to have a visual representation of yourself," Greenberg said, when asked if he thought hardcore gamers would be put off by the requirement. "But you can make a pretty badass avatar."

In a meeting with journalists at TGS this week, Microsoft's group product manager for Xbox 360, Aaron Greenberg, said all users will be required to choose an avatar as a visual representation of themselves when they boot up the new dash.

"We're forcing you to have a visual representation of yourself," Greenberg said, when asked if he thought hardcore gamers would be put off by the requirement. "But you can make a pretty badass avatar."

However, that doesn't mean you have to use your new friend, or even take more than half a minute creating him or her. At the outset of the Avatar creation process, you'll be greeted by a cavalcade of pre-made Avatars who'll romp onto the screen for your choosing.

If you like, you can pick one of these templates and customize it to your liking. Or, if you're the Scrooge McDuck type, you can just button mash until an Avatar is picked and filed away. If you so desire, you never have to use your Avatar again, as the same functions that are in the Guide currently will be available in the NXE.

When the service launches next month, all the accoutrements available for your Avatar (haircuts, clothing, etc.) will be gratis. But when asked if that will continue indefinitely, Greenburg said Microsoft is keeping its options open. So if you're planning on outfitting your character with Armani suits and Ray-Bans, be prepared to possibly pay for the privilege down the line.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
