Mozilla fixes graphics issues in Firefox on Nvidia systems

Firefox 13901

Earlier this week, Mozilla released Firefox 139.0 to all users in the Stable Channel (version 140 for the Beta Channel followed shortly). This feature update introduced some new features and improvements, such as more personalization for the new tab page, experimental link previews with AI-generated key points, bug fixes, and more. Unfortunately, it also brought some new bugs, and Mozilla is now fixing them with Firefox 139.0.1.

Version 139.0.1 is now available for download, and its changelog contains only one bug fix for PC users with Nvidia graphics cards. According to Mozilla, Firefox 139.0 experiences graphical corruptions if two or more monitors are connected to an Nvidia graphics card running at different refresh rates:

  • Fixed graphics corruption with certain NVIDIA graphics adapters and multiple monitors running at mixed refresh rates after updating to Firefox 139. (Bug 1968876)

Customers who reported the bug on Bugzilla said the bug causes "Screen corruption inside Firefox window on monitor 1 with flashing parts of video image from monitor 2 whenever hovering over any graphical elements on monitor 1." Another user experienced "artifacting whenever a video is played on the second monitor and I hover over any graphical elements on the main monitor."

Luckily, Mozilla detected and resolved the bug quickly. You can now download Firefox 139.0.1 by heading to Menu > Help and Feedback > About Firefox. Alternatively, you can get the browser from the official website, the Microsoft Store, or Neowin's Software page.

In other news, Mozilla recently announced the end of Pocket, a popular service that allowed you to save web pages for offline reading. Fakespot has also been discontinued, as Mozilla attempts to streamline its resources and focus on Firefox, its main product.
