NTL Speed Upgrades Next Month

Good news for everyone, well nearly everyone signed up to NTL Broadband. From the 1st June NTL will be upgrading 2Mb subscribers to a 4Mb connection for free and will be removing any bandwidth caps on all packages. A juicy upload rate of 400k will also be introduced for 4Mb packages, giving existing users double what was available before.

Chad Raube, director of internet services at ntl Telewest, said "We've got a solid track record of giving customers more for their money and these broadband upgrades are the latest example of how we'll continue to add value." From June 2006 NTL will offer services at 1Mb, 4Mb and 10Mb.

While NTL will be removing an official bandwidth cap it is understood by Cable Forum that there may be plans to traffic shape their network, however nothing has been officially announced.
