Goodbye Laptop...

Carrying on from my previous entry, my laptop has finally gone off for yet another repair (Well, it would have gone yesterday if they didn't send the wrong courier - who came without a box to keep it in).

I will admit that, although I initially blamed HP, Laskys (who are a part of Comet) aren't doing much to help either. I've now had to wait indoors for a total of 6 days across 3 weeks, whilst they don't return phone calls, organise couriers that don't turn up, or simply give me false information.

As much as I love the laptop (a HP Tablet - which as a freelance graphic/web designer, has become a huge part of my daily life), if I knew how much trouble it was going to be, I'd have completely avoided it. It does come with one good thing though, which is that I'm now pretty good with Photoshop using a laptop trackpad (I pretty much never had to use it before), although it's still not as nice as using a tablet :(.

Anyway, enough ranting. Laskys have until July 31st before I take it further (apparently 4 weeks is a reasonable time, and considering the hell they've put me through in the process, that's what I've been advised to give). I really hope it doesn't go any further, but I suppose needs must.

Never know, I might be adding a post next week saying that I have a fully repaired laptop...

</dream> :p

If they send it back faulty again demand a replacement unit. File a nice complaint on consumerist.com and fire a few emails to their top ppl as it might get something started.Demand an 8 cell battery as well...
Look in there terms and conditions. My old laptop broke and i got it repaired by pcservicecall (pcworld) they had the laptop for over 6 weeks so they gave me a credit note to buy a new laptop because in there terms and conditions it stated that if they have the laptop for longer than 6 weeks they have to give compensation.
No such luck I'm afraid. My only chance of getting it exchanged or refunded is if I can argue my case using the Sale of Goods act as my backbone, which, when the person you are dealing with thinks he knows more than trading standards, is almost impossible.
I can only imagine how amazing it must be using a tablet pc and photoshop. wow. lol.I always used a mouse.. Its kinda good for you in the sense that it helps you smooth out your hand.
