The quick link at the top of the Digital Camera Lab below is broken. I searched for the thread but it appears to have been completely removed. Neowin flickr Member Directory -> https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=661168 Since no one seems to know where it is, I will attempt to start it a new. by Draconian Guppy- 0 replies

Sony has announced the SLT-A77 II - its latest enthusiast grade, APS-C fixed-mirror DSLR. The Mark II features the same pixel count as its three-year-old forebear, but delivers it using a new 24MP sensor. The camera also gains a 79-point autofocus sensor, which it combines with the most sophisticated autofocus system on a Sony camera yet. In addition, the A77 II gains a 'WhiteMagic' RGBW LCD panel and Wi-Fi, along with all the processing improvements that come from the company's latest Bionz processor. Other upgrades include the customizable 'Quick Navi Pro' function menu but the biggest change is the improved autofocus, which combines with the ability to shoot up to 60 J…

Foto Sharing Site
by Odom- 12 replies
- 2.6k views
I have a large amount of wedding pictures I would like to share with friends and family. About 2500 pictures, 6-8GB total. Do you know any good website that would allow to do this? If possible without payed subscriptions? I would like something where I could possibly create albums, where guests can view the pictures and then download the ones they want. Possibly the ability to download an entire album. I have a Gmail account, but the Photos app doesn't have the size to upload that large amount of pictures without paying extra. I could theoretically also do this via my NAS, but I have slow upload speeds, so other people would be limited to that, if they choose to d…

I bought a Holga135BC and took five rolls of pictures. The local photolab said all five rolls came out bad and that I had a bad camera. I have a feeling that the photolab messed up somehow. What are the odds that my camera is bad? How could I even test it? I guess I could just shoot another roll and try another lab, but it's hard to find labs that process 35mm. EDIT: Nevermind. I figured out I was loading the film wrong! LOL

I have always used my camera's phone for almost everything, but now i'm looking for something dedicated. I'm not a pro but what like something decent for crisp and quick snap shot of my kids and family. I'm looking for something on the slim side, not bulky like the Nikon DSLRs. Budget CAD 300-400.

artifact in viewfinder
by Stealthy_Singh- 13 replies
- 3.2k views
Hi all. I have an issue with my 6D. I can see an artifact in the viewfinder but this does not show up in any photos taken. I have taken a photo on my phone through the viewfinder and outlined it. It is just above the far right autofocus point.I thought it might be a hair on the viewfinder and tried to clean it. This did not remove or even move it. Is this within the camera? If so any ideas how I can shift it or should I take it to a camera shop and have them take a look. I don't want to void the warranty! This is not the kind of photo I envisaged on posting in this forum :p Thanks.

Lens options for Nikon D3100?
by Elliot B.- 9 replies
We have a Nikon D3100 that came with a standard 18-55mm VR lens (we're not sure what the 18-55mm part means). We are considering buying a second lens but I can imagine we're limited as it's a low-end DSLR camera. We don't want to spend more than ?100 (around $150 USD). What are our options? Ideally, I'd like one that lets more light in so I can take better night shots (with streetlights as the lighting etc.) without using a tripod and without the photos blurring.

DSLR Camera questions 1 2
by Dane- 40 replies
- 3.9k views
So later on this year, maybe around the holidays I would like to get a new DSLR. I have some questions though. I currently have a Nikon D3100, I don't use it too much, but I think if I got a new camera I would use it alot. I do currently use it for pictures for the media, local TV news and newspaper. Night time shots, and long exposures. I want a camera that is going to last. BH Photo and Video has some good prices I see. I currently have a D3100 with 18-55VR and 55-200 VR lens. Browsing I see the following: Nikon D5300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens $896.95. They do have a bundle with a bigger lense similar to the nikon ones…

I took a trip west on I80 and then California HWY 89 to the truckee meadow area. I took several shots but this barn was by far the best of the bunch. I apologize for the watermark but I do that for all of them and this URL was taken from my deviantart account. I also did it in B&W as well. Cheers!

I dont know why it was closed, no one was really arguing. But if you want to understand "flatness" in terms of photography's history you can take a look at the Dusseldorf's School of Photography generation, the New Topographic's generation or more recently (and marketable if that's your taste), Michael Kenna.
