What was the last movie you watched? (2013 Edition)

EXPLOSIONS.....WOMEN AND EXPLOSIONS! :p

And you did not get them ?

I would be surprised to hear Bay did a movie without at the very least one explosion every 15 minutes.

As for women well the poster is more than enough for me XD

I think there was only one explosion in the entire movie... :)

Well, i don't think the movie is that bad, at least it's a different style.

How I Ended This Summer (2010)

"Kak ya provel etim letom" (original title)

2.9/5

Not a great movie by any mean. Way too long with lot of downtime. Should have been 20 minutes less and more focused. Still an interesting movie with great cinematography and acting. It makes you think after you finished watching it.

What a disappointment! 6/10 waste of time and money, lot of SF movies this year but is seems that they are focusing more on quantity than the quality. Starting with After Earth (the worst movie I ever seen), World War Z (aren't we too tired to watch zombies and vampires movies?), Oblivion (was decent) and now this one that is just garbage.

Pain & Gain - 8.5 / 10 - Absolutely awesome, second half goes a bit slower than the first but it's still great. I don't really understand the hate but then again I liked The Host a lot.... Maybe I have bad taste in movies.

I think Damon is probably miscast but I'll watch it sooner or later.

I agree with 7.5 for the Hobbit. It was good, but not like the LotR movies. There was just something, not epic. The books are always better, but in this case, the book was much more ... epic?

I just can't watch a couple juiced up actors. Disappointed in one of my favs, Wahlberg. I just don't think Dwayne can act. Hoping Wahlberg rebounds and in a movie that doesn't require him to be hitting the 'roids.

I havnt read the book but i know what you mean about missing that little bit of epicness like the LOTR films, still a few of these Hobbit movies to come though so hopefully it'll pick up!

8/10. There was 2 things that bugged the crap outta me with this movie, but since it only just has been released, I will wait a few days before I say what they were.

On the whole thou, Chloe once again steals the show. Jim Carrey was amazing too, I think one of his best roles yet.

 Loving the poster used

Oblivion 7.5/10

Good movie with enough twists and suspense to make you feel attached to the characters, a bit too messiah-black-and-white to me.

Someone else than Tom Cruise might have been better to play the lead role

Watched it with a few mates who hadnt seen it, love it! 4/5

Gonna try to find this one ...

    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
