6.6/10 - I swear I'm not going back to cinema this year ! Enough is enough! And Denzel, wth is wrong with you, it is better for you to retire instead of playing in awful movies.

He's in the early stages of Cuba Gooding syndrome.

Oblivion (2013)

3.9/5

Really interesting original idea. Can't say the same about the script though. Still despite all its flaws (and there's many of them) Oblivion is a really interesting movie and one of the best sci fi movie i've seen in the last decade. [edit] I think the director sells the twist waaaayyyy too soon into the movie.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

3.5/5

I really don't understand what people find so good in the new Star Trek movies to rate them so high on imdb. They are great pop corn movies like the new Star Wars but there's something preventing me from really envoying them all that much. Maybe it's all the dumb action sequences and the fact both movies feel like what would happen if Bay knew how to direct a movie ... good and fun movies but nothing more imo.

Ha, i think ill steer clear definitely then.. 1 good review to about 15 bad ones, just wont be worth it

Watched it tonight against my better judgement. I couldn't make it through the whole movie, I felt my brain cells popping and had to turn it off.

Ha decision is now final, my eyes will never view this film, banned.

I thought exactly the same for Oblivion....great idea and some stunning sparse scenes of a battle weary Earth, but the story, and the dialogue...just awful.  A real shame.

As for ST:ID, I'm getting a little weary with the mash up of original films being adding into the new ones with slight tweaks to deal with the "it's a new timeline" lore.  I do find the characters and performances good generally, and Quinto is doing a good job.  Nowhere near as good as the first of the reboot though.  The telling of the story was better in that one too.

Hopefully we get some stand alone films now the "mission" has started.

I hope so. Cause yeah overall the movies are good. Special effects are awesome. Acting is okay. Cinematography above average.

Yeah, I get and quite like the way in which they've dealt with the divergent timeline in the movies.  However it's getting old now.  They need to build on Pine's Kirk character as he's grown into it well after just two outings.

Also looks like Chekov and Sulu will get more screen time methinks.

It's a good movie. I was surprised to see Roland Emmerich can direct something remotely good.

Yeah indeed, although such movies make me think about history. What IF it is true, that shakespeare didn't write a thing himself etc...

Intouchables (2011)

4/5

Very good movie highly recommended.

Absolutely a must watch.  Its being a while since I liked a movie to give it 10/10.

Feel good but very truthful movie about unlikely friendship between black welfare collector and a disabled millionare.

I was very surpriced at how I got involved with both characters.

    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
