What was the last movie you watched? (2013 Edition)

Recommended Posts

Comes out today in UK, I saw a private screening at Fox this afternoon :)

I'm skeptical about seeing it. I don't pay attention to comic books.

Does it explain why he's in Japan and what not? My buddy said it's in the future after the X-Men movies.

Yeah it does and it's set after XMen: Last Stand

Oblivion, did not really care for it. mostly because i do not like tom cruise but i just thought it was boring.

Can I ask what you don't like about him? I think he's a pretty good actor, and knowing he was wanting to be a priest when he grew up and went this route and made a few good movies is amazing.

What didn't you like about Oblivion? I plan on watching it this weekend.

Probably just Tom Cruise.

Usually when i check the score of a movie Tom Cruise is playing in I add one point to the score to reflect reality. Like Born a forth of july is in fact a 8.1 quality movie on imdb scale instead of 7.1.

Redline 3/5 - Accepting the low budget, surprisingly watchable.

Gallowwalkers - Wesley Snipes reminiscing about Blade in a Wild West setting, could not finish.

Ha, ive got it downloaded. The fact that one of the posters ive seen actually says "BLADE IS BACK!!" it didnt seem like it can stand on its own 2 feet.

Rewatched 'The Silence of the Lambs' the other night and honestly had forgotten just how good the film was... utterly brilliant. I loved it. Just one of those films I couldn't imagine them making today - not for the violence but because of just how little 'action' there is and how much of a slow burner it is.

I'm baffled. How can a fanedit be better than the original? Please don't tell me that some dude with mediocre video editing skills can do a better job than Ridley Scott, one of the world's best directors.

I'd change nothing in Prometheus. If anything, I'd make it longer and more suspenseful like the first Alien if it were up to me. To cut and edit this masterpiece is like slapping Mr. Scott's face .

Check the Changes and Reviews tabs, or better yet, give it a watch and make up your own mind.

You shouldn't be so presumptuous about peoples editing skills, or so dismissive of fan edits in general.

Zero Dark Thirty (2012)

3.5/5

I was honestly left disappointed. Not a bad docudrama but not a great movie either. How am i supposed to care about people who torture others ? I really like Bigelow but i don't know what she really wanted to do with it. There's dramatization but it's really weak with no characters dev or anything to make you care about those people who torture others for the "greater good".

Ted (2012)

3.5/5

I expected a little bit more but still a fun romantic comedy for men because ultimately this is what Ted really is. I did not laugh all that much but still a really fun lighthearted movie.

Orphan Black (2013) (TV Series)

3/5

Orphan Black is what i would call a guilty pleasure. Not a great serie and specially not a great script but the lead Tatiana Maslany is doing a really good job. Well worth a watch if you liked series like Dark Angel or Dollhouse.

Frankenstein's Army - Critical Rating 4.5/10, Personal Enjoyment Rating 8/10 :D

Gettin on that!!

I'm thinking you'll like it. :) I still haven't been brave enough to watch Pacific Rim, Transformers have turned me off to all giant robot movies. But we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Identity Thief (2013) - Watched it mainly because of Jason Bateman (loved Horrible Bosses) and it turned out to be quite funny. 4/5

Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps (2010) 4/5

Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol (2011) - As I pretty much always have done, when I hear a new movie in the series is coming, I watch the most recent. In this case, MI:4. Really liked this one (Simon Pegg was brilliant) 5/5.

    • They already threw the Ultra 1st gen under the bus?
    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
