Tesseract4 Share Posted January 31, 2007 It seems odd that they would have given us clues on Monday if it had been solved on Sunday. But it seems like a long way to go to trick us. Not thrilled if it was a guess but in the end this was a community puzzle and it all comes down to who hit submit first. So congratulations and good luck to everyone in the drawing. ariesjj Share Posted January 31, 2007 Well.. here's a way we can prove or disprove if you really got it. Let us know EXACTLY what you're having engraved on the chips.. that way when they produce them you'll either get applauded for your answer or you'll be flamed worse than the guy that claimed TiffanyTeen was his g/f for like 85 pages in a forum... *shrugs*

TempUserName Share Posted January 31, 2007 why not just say your name? it's going to be printed on the CPU for all to see anyhow... just seems weird that the email comes before the thing even finishes
melikejackdaniels Share Posted January 31, 2007 "Neowin & Unfiction"or possibly "get a mac" :) I agree, if it wasn't for everyone's insite from both of these sites, I don't think anyone would have solved it. It took a lot of us working together and I don't think it's right for only one person to get full credit for everyone else's work.

ajdedo Share Posted January 31, 2007 why not just say your name?it's going to be printed on the CPU for all to see anyhow... just seems weird that the email comes before the thing even finishes Of course it's weird. That's because it's not true !!! The contest is not over and the winner has not been notified. Plain and simple. Maybe we can get back to discussing the REAL answer ?!? dtix Share Posted January 31, 2007 consider this; L.O.K.I Said she majored in 4 areas in college: Physics, Stage Arts, History, and Folklore Lorelei - is German Folklore. Odessa - Ukraine Colony founded by Greece, History Kara - Asian Comic, South Korea, Stage Arts I??? - Physics If you subtract all the x and y distances from the coordinates, the length of the hypotenuse ends up on a town called Ida ( on the line from Mystery Spot to Hardee). Ida Tacke was a famous chemists/physicist that was the first to discover fission(smallest places ), posthumously, and the mass defect(Physical presence not required) associated with it. I think Ida may be the last word.

jammer77 Share Posted January 31, 2007 no it wouldn't. press releases are scheduled, and considering the scope of this contest, i'd put a dollar or two on it being announced either following the drawings tonight or tomorrow around 10am or 12pm. Yes press releases are scheduled. Also, unless the person already got the relaese info in the mail and got it back to whoever may send it they will not release the name (laws and such) so it probably will not be released until the next day, given the 24 hour thing on the main prize that seems fair that it would take 48 hours from notification. ftp222 Share Posted January 31, 2007 ok...no problem. Any suggestions? In all honestly, if I were to have won, my plan was to put the prize up for auction on ebay (assuming this is allowable). Then contact the PR departments of Microsoft, AMD, and 42 Entertainment so they can help promote the prize/auction to various news agencies. I have a hard time seeing how they would turn down all of this extra publicity. Then donate a large portion of the ?earnings? to charity and a portion to Neowin for hosting the site. After all, if Golden Palace Casino (I think that?s their name) will pay $25k for a Grilled Cheese sandwich, what is the value of their name printed on thousands of AMD processors? Just my thoughts. -ftp222
TempUserName Share Posted January 31, 2007 copy/paste the email header...that would be much quicker & easier just leave out the senders name if u have to
