AMD 25.5.2 optional Windows driver fixes F1 25 path tracing crashes

AMD has released a new display driver for Windows 11 and 10. The new driver—Adrenalin Edition 25.5.2 Optional Update Driver Version 25.10.01.12 (Windows Driver Store Version 32.0.21001.12002)— is not WHQL certified as the company released it earlier today to fix F1 25 crashes. In particular, the crash-fix is for Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs with the path tracing feature enabled. This is also the first driver to bring support for the racing sim title.

Aside from this one fix, AMD also notes Discord performance issues and FreeSync-related system crashes on its 9000 series GPUs. The full changelog is given below and it is, as expected, rather small:

Highlights

  • New Game Support
    • F1® 25
  • Fixed Issues and Improvements
    • Intermittent application crash may be observed while playing F1® 25 with path tracing enabled on AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products

Known Issues

  • Stutter and lower than expected performance may be observed when using alt-tab and streaming to Discord with multiple monitors.
  • Intermittent system crash may be observed while using multiple high-resolution monitors with AMD FreeSync™ on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products.

Aside from the display driver, the new driver package also contains an NPU driver in the form of the Ryzen AI NPU MCDM Driver version 32.00.0203.258.

To download the driver, head over to AMD's official website here where you can also view the release notes. It is compatible with the RX 5000, 6000, 7000, and 9000 series families.
