Epic unveils Fortnite Crew subscription service costing $11.99 per month

Epic Games is wading into the subscription service frontier, as the company today announced Fortnite Crew. The new service offers Fortnite players exclusive cosmetic items, V-Bucks, and the battle pass for $11.99 per month.

The service will come online with the popular battle royale title' upcoming Chapter 2 – Season 5 update on December 2. Subscribing to Fortnite Crew will also grant players access to the currently active Battle Pass for no extra charge, and those who already own it will instead receive back the 950 V-Bucks they spent to gain the Pass.

Every month, subscribers also get 1,000 V-Bucks to spend on the cosmetics store, as well as a Crew Pack bundle that comes with a new outfit and at least one matching accessory, such as a Pickaxe, Glider, or Emote. Epic says that the special items included in this bundle will always be exclusive to subscribers and will never be sold or given away to non-Crew members.

Starting December 2, the $11.99 per month Fortnite Crew subscription will be available for purchase via the Item Shop or the Battle Pass purchase screen across all platforms the free-to-play shooter is available on. Those who jump off the subscription at a later point will get to keep their current Battle Pass for the rest of the season, as well as any V-Bucks and Crew Packs they have received.
