Microsoft finally releases Office Lens for iPad

Microsoft today is finally releasing Office Lens for iPad. It's been a long time coming, as the app is already available for iPhones, Windows phones and tablets, and Android devices, so the iPad was the last major platform that Office Lens wasn't supported on.

It's a Universal App, which means that if you already have the iPhone app, you should be able to grab it under your Purchased tab. Naturally, that means that there's an update (version 1.5) for iPhones today as well.

Microsoft says that the app has Learning Tools built into it, such as Immersive Reader. This will allow users to scan documents and whiteboards and have the app read the text from them. As the text is read, the words will be highlighted, as you can see from the animated image above.

The company says that you're going to "love the way it looks on a bigger screen"; of course, this assumes that you haven't already used it on a bigger screen, as you've been able to do on Android and Windows for some time.

You can grab Office Lens from the App Store right here.
