Microsoft today announced that users can now download the full version of PlanetSide through January 5th from its web site as part of its initiative to highlight Windows XP as a premium gaming platform. Those that download Sony Online Entertainment's online action game can play it free for 30 days. After the free 30 day trial is up can opt to continue playing PlanetSide for only $12.99 per month without having to worry about purchasing the retail boxed version of the game. Players can also visit the Windows XP Game Advisor to make sure their systems can handle the game.
