Google's new Pixel Buds (or Pixel Buds 2), have been on sale in the US since late April and it only been a few hours since they went on sale in nine more countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and the UK. While the Pixel Buds have yet to reach most users outside the US, Google has already confirmed that it is working on the first ‘feature drop’ that will hopefully improve a few things but mainly add some new features like with the new Pixel 4 range.
Forbes confirmed from Google, that the first-ever ‘feature drop’ for its Pixel Buds is set to land next month. While the exact date has not been confirmed, Google has plans to make it live by the end of August.
What will the big update add to the Pixel Buds? Well, that for now still remains a mystery as Google did not confirm the same to Forbes. Google has added a number of new features to its Pixel phones with various feature drops including Assistant-enabled call screening, Cards and Passes, a new bedtime feature in the Clock app, personal safety features, and much more.
Since going on sale in the US, the Pixel Buds have already received two firmware updates with the latest one fixing an audio hissing issue. The source claims that in a late June interview, Google’s senior product manager of wearables, Sandeep Waraich, confirmed that the update would fix the audio cutout problem and add a combination of new features as well.
