What was the last movie you watched? (2013 Edition)

Rouge Sang (2013)

2.5/5

Interesting idea. Great cinematography. Shock ending would have been better if more progressive and not a "last 5 minutes in your face" type of ending.

Phantom (2013)

2.5/5

Could have been good if it actually felt russian with the proper language and subtitles. I had the impression to watch north americans pretending to be russians.

Pacific Rim, Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, Man of Steel and R.I.P.D., oh and Flight of the Navigator (oldie but goodie) all last week

Ted - 4/10 - I've seen it before, I gave it another chance. It's just a bad episode of Family Guy. I think it was worse this time.

Man of Tai Chi - 8.5/10 - Excellent portrayal of the principles of Tai Chi put into a sweet action movie, also Keanu Reeves.

Turbo.
(I'll have to find a poster next time I'm on the pc, currently on my phone typing this)
Was actually a very good movie, for the first 5 minutes I thought it was going to be an animated Days of Thunder, but my girls loved every second of it, and the child that I am, loved watching it with them.

edit, as promised...

2 Guns - 5 / 10 - It was completely average, I neither liked nor disliked it. I'm getting tired of the, " 'cool' apathetic attitude to an otherwise severely traumatic experience" thing. But at the same time it is entertaining enough, I guess. I'm sick of Denzel Washington playing the same damn guy in every movie also. I'd love to see him in a role where he plays a dumb-ass, with zero practical knowledge in anything and terrible with Women.

G.I. Joe Retaliation - 2 / 10 - lol.

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
