Due to a phone-line problem in my new house I haven't had internet at home for over a week *twitch* so I went on somewhat of a movie binge.

MP: Holy Grail - 7/10 - It's funny.

MP: Life of Brien - 7.5/10 - It's slightly funnier.

A Goofy Movie - 8.5/10 - Probably my favorite kids cartoon.

Johnny English - 6/10 - Not very funny.

Avatar - freak'n amazing/10 - People don't like this movie being rated.

My Sisters Keeper - 7/10 - Well done but pretty typical.

Matrix 2 - blugh/10 - What a crap-fest. I didn't mind 3 though.

Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013)

8/10

Great porn movie ;) The only porn movie you'll watch for the story ...

Enter the Void (2009)

7/10

Good seizure inducing movie. Had the potential to be one of the best movie ever. Sadly was too long. Loved the first 1h30. Did not like the last hour that much. Winner of the most awesome opening credit ever.

Rush (2013)

7.5/10

Surprisingly very very good.

Carrie (2013)

5/10

Barely watchable. Do yourself a favor and watch the original.

Enemy (2013)

7/10

Got to be one of the weirdest movie ever. Even more weird than Donnie Darko. Problem is the movie aint that great even after you understood what the **** it was all about. Still worth a watch. Winner for the most WTF ending ever.

The Grandmaster (2013)

6.5/10

Not bad. But style over substance.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

7.5/10

Really nice lighthearted movie. Awesome work by the cast.

All Is Lost (2013)

6.5/10

Was okay i guess ...

Under the Skin (2013)

6.5/10

E for Effort ... or something like that ...

The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (2013)

7/10

Nice movie considering the small budget.

Darren Aronofsky flowchart: Good Movie - Amazing Movie - Dud. Keep it in mind.

I don't know. He did Pi, Requiem for a dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler and Black Swan in a row. I would not call any of those a dud. The Fountain was kinda weak for a movie by him but i still liked it a lot. A bad Aronofsky is still better than a good movie by most directors. Well that was before Noah ...

Pi was good.

Requiem was great.

The Fountain was a massive dud, the Cloud Atlas of 2006. A film that couldn't hold itself under the weight of its pretentiousness passing for depth.

Noah would've been a great movie if they just made the setup part 1/3 of it's length and just give us way more Crazy Eyes Murderer Noah. Did we really need the Stone Ents at all in this?

    • "77ee94b helium/windows: winsparkle updater (built-in auto-update support on Windows" If that's what I think it is, that is about the only thing that's been missing from this excellent browser. I guess I'll find out the next time I'm on a Windows machine.

    • Good point Anti-spoofing protection for cloud mailboxes Anti-spoofing technology in Microsoft 365 specifically examines forgery of the From header field (also known as the 5322.From address, From address, or P2 sender), because email clients show the From header value as the message sender. When Microsoft 365 has high confidence the From header is forged, the message is identified as spoofed. https://learn.microsoft.com/en...g-protection-spoofing-about
    • I sort of agree with you on that. I had a telescope - a real hefty thing, although only around 500CHF - that got me so fascinated about the stars and planets. I would stare for hours, amazed that I could see the craters of the moon or the rings of Saturn in "realtime" (quotations because, y'know, speed of light and whatnot). A friend of mine has a telescope like the one mentioned in the review, and the pictures are amazing to look at. But there is something missing for me. I may as well just go to NASA's website and look through their gallery.
    • As opposed to catching bad press because it's the engine's fault? The engine has all the tools a dev needs to optimize their game, Epic isn't gonna hold their hand to make sure they use them. Also, Epic isn't forcing anyone to use Lumen, Nanite or super high resolution meshes and textures. Just because Nanite can render meshes with millions of polygons doesn't mean you should use it like that, in fact, Epic recommends you avoid doing that. Most of the stuttering can easily be fixed by cutting down on unique materials by using master materials, using instanced meshes or combining meshes, generating a thorough PSO cache to allow shader pre-compilation and also managing what must be loaded and unloaded at runtime. It's up to the developer to set all that up properly and no the engine can't do all that for you that's not how any of this works.
