9/10

Absolutely loved this movie. Michael Shannon is one heck of an actor!

Didn't read the book. 8.5/10. Well acted.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 6.5 / 10 - Very good, but very uncharacteristic of Star Trek but I try to not let those things bother me. A little anti-climactic.

Iron Man 3 - 3.5 / 10 - Should have been called 'Tony Stark' since Iron Man was hardly a part of this crap-fest. I'll give it a 3.5 simply for CGI Value and sound.

A Single Shot - 8/10 - Slow, but very well acted.

Looks interesting.

4/5 = really epic!

It has a stellar cast that serves as misdirection as it is never used for anything important. The movie itself is a magic trick. You know you saw something but you'll forget it in an instant.

I watched Elysium today. It was pretty cool. Neill Blomkamp is quickly becoming a must watch director/writer.

Taken 2 (2012)

2.9/5

Hum ... well ... bof ... next call ...

The Master (2012)

3.7/5

Strange movie. Like Cloud Atlas i don't know if i liked it, hated it or loved it. Outstanding work by Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Nicely directed and filmed. Technically this is a close to perfect movie. Not so sure about the script though. There was not much meat on the bones ...

The Impossible (2012)

3.9/5

Really good movie. A little bit too much dramatized for my taste. I wish the movie would have focussed a little bit less on the family. Their story is incredible but the movie could have been deeper.

Le fils de l'autre (2012)

3.3/5

Good solid movie. Interesting script. Could have been better but still nobody did anything totally wrong.

4/5

I just rewatched it couple of weeks ago myself, and even for such an old movie, i think it is brilliant and anything other then 5/5 is a bit strange.    however, i understand tastes differ.  i just know this is one of the best comedies of this type ever made!

    • Good point Anti-spoofing protection for cloud mailboxes Anti-spoofing technology in Microsoft 365 specifically examines forgery of the From header field (also known as the 5322.From address, From address, or P2 sender), because email clients show the From header value as the message sender. When Microsoft 365 has high confidence the From header is forged, the message is identified as spoofed. https://learn.microsoft.com/en...g-protection-spoofing-about
    • I sort of agree with you on that. I had a telescope - a real hefty thing, although only around 500CHF - that got me so fascinated about the stars and planets. I would stare for hours, amazed that I could see the craters of the moon or the rings of Saturn in "realtime" (quotations because, y'know, speed of light and whatnot). A friend of mine has a telescope like the one mentioned in the review, and the pictures are amazing to look at. But there is something missing for me. I may as well just go to NASA's website and look through their gallery.
    • As opposed to catching bad press because it's the engine's fault? Unreal has all the tools a dev needs to optimize their game, Epic isn't gonna hold their hand to make sure they use them. Also, Epic isn't forcing anyone to use Lumen, Nanite or super high resolution meshes and textures. Just because Nanite can render meshes with millions of polygons doesn't mean you should use it like that, in fact, Epic recommends you avoid doing that. Most of the stuttering can easily be fixed by cutting down on unique materials by using master materials, using instanced meshes or combining meshes, generating a thorough PSO cache to allow shader pre-compilation and also managing what must be loaded and unloaded at runtime. It's up to the developer to set all that up properly, and no, Unreal or any other engine can't do any of that for you.
