Spotify will now let you upload playlist images from your phone

Spotify will now let users upload custom playlist images using their phones. Until now, this could only be done on desktop and the firm is making the "highly requested feature" available through its Android and iOS apps. Both free and paying users will be able to make use of the feature.

The process of customizing playlist image and description on mobile is pretty straightforward. When in the created playlist, users need to tap three dots in the top-right, which brings up the menu. They can then edit and change the image to upload the preferred one.

This could come in handy for users who want to add a personal touch to playlists by uploading images from the phone gallery that are reflective of the mood. The firm added that the feature could also help users living apart from their loved ones during this holiday season show their affection.

"(...) this new feature can help you put the finishing touches on the perfect playlist to “gift” to loved ones in your life."

In other Spotify news, the firm announced last month that it was acquiring Megaphone, a podcast hosting company that provides ad-insertion capabilities.
