Amazon selling Verizon phones for just $0.01 until Monday

If you have been itching to buy a new and powerful smartphone, the next few days could see you make that leap. Amazon's wireless division has a huge sale on nearly all wireless phones offered by Verizon Wireless. So what is Amazon's price to get any of these phones? It's just one cent until the sale ends on October 17. The two big exceptions are the iPhone 4 and the upcoming iPhone 4S.

This sale also doesn't include devices such as tablets, USB laptop wireless products or WiFi hotspot devices. Other than that, you can get recently released smartphones such as the Droid Bionic, which normally sells for $299.99 with a two year contract, for one cent. You can also get a number of phones that would normally sell for $199.99 with a two year contract for this ultra-low price, such as the Blackberry Torch, the HTC Rhyme, the Droid Charge and the LG Revolution.

This sale is limited to adding new lines with a two year contract so it looks like if you already own a Verizon phone and want to upgrade your existing phone line, you are out of luck. On the other hand, Amazon does give buyers a free two day shipping offer with their phone orders. This sale is obviously a way to take some of the thunder away from the launch of the iPhone 4S, even though that phone will be put on sale via Verizon as well starting on Friday. But if you wanted to check out this whole LTE 4G network that Verizon has been promoting for the past year this may be the cheapest way to access that network.
