The Coalition's next game is called, you guessed it, Gears 5. At the Xbox E3 2018 briefing today, we got out first look at both the game's story and some gameplay in an enticing new cinematic trailer.
On full display was the game's fast-paced and visceral combat, but what was also apparent was the studio's emphasis on the title's story, dedicating most of the trailer to Kait, the character we'll play as, and the premonitions she's having. Gears 5 follows her journey as she tries to find answers about who she is and what is happening to her.
The world of Gears 5 is supposed to be the biggest, most beautiful in the series and, as always, you can join your friends in co-op to explore it together. Available on both the PC and Xbox One at launch, the title will support 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR, a frame rate of 60fps.
Gears 5 is scheduled for release sometime in 2019.
