Intel's Pentium 4 Extreme Edition is aimed fairly and squarely at desktops for gamers, but that hasn't stopped a US PC maker from attempting to bung one into its high-end portables. Liebermann offers three notebook lines, Studio, Producer and Hollywood, with 15in, 16in and 17in widescreen displays, respectively. Liebermann's web site is styled after Apple's and it's pitching its notebooks at the same markets the Mac maker does: digital content creation.
All three models will now ship as 'Extreme' versions with the 2MB L3 cache-equipped P4EE clocked to 3.2GHz. They also feature up to 4GB of dual-channel 433MHz DDR SDRAM, various 7200rpm ATA-133 hard drive capacities, a range of CD and DVD readers and writers, and 128MB AGP 8x ATI Radeon 9600 Pro graphics chips. The machines also sport two or four surround sound speakers with integrated sub-woofers, a built-in digicam, DVI and TV out, S/P DIF optical digital audio I/O, RAID controllers, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 1394, USB 2.0, 10/100Mbps Ethernet and a 56Kbps modem.
And just to make sure the Intel chip doesn't cause a meltdown, the machines uses Liebermann's FreeFlow 'enhanced cooling architecture', which incorporates "variable speed-fan digital microprocessor control with multiple temperature sensing points. High-density multi-stage CPU copper heatsink with precision pressure plates. Oversized double-blade Dual Q-Fan architecture with adaptive vibration canceling technology. Independent Chipset/Graphics Adapter and critical component Multi-distribution side heatsinks. HD, DDR and power supply electrical components independent air ducts."
