Three minor updates to Windows 10 in build 10074

In the latest release of Windows 10, there are three minor updates that you may have missed in the screenshots we posted. While not ground breaking additions, they will improve the user experience.

Seeing as Windows 10 is quickly approaching release sometime this summer, Microsoft is refining the features that have now been implemented. In this post, we will cover three updates to existing features that further improves their functionality.

Settings

In the Settings panel, the back button has been updated with a modern arrow that fits into the new design language. There is also a new icon that shows the section you are in and clicking it will also take you back to the home panel. Seeing as both buttons do the same thing, this feature is still likely being built out and will be refined in the next couple of releases.

Battery Indicator

If you click on the battery icon, it will pop-up a window that shows you how much time is remaining along with two relevant shortcuts to 'Brightness' and 'Battery Saver'. Additionally, you can also go to the 'Power and Sleep' settings page from the battery status window.

Volume Indicator

If you adjust the volume in Windows 10 10074, you will see that the volume bar is now horizontal whereas it was vertical in the several versions of Windows prior to the update.

These are a few of the smaller updates that have arrived with this build. If you did install the OS and happen to find anything else new, make sure to send us a tip.
