Xbox 360 surpasses 8 million sales in Europe

Microsoft today announced that Xbox 360 has "sailed past" the 8 million sales mark in Europe and they have also updated the budget game line-up with 3 more titles.

Vice President of marketing of Xbox Europe, David Gosen had this to say:

"As we see more and more families looking to save money by staying in, Xbox 360 continues to offer high-quality home entertainment at fantastic value and consumers."

On the 20th of March, Halo 3 (Bungie), Mass Effect (Bioware) & Project Gotham Racing 4 (Bizarre) will be joining the Xbox 360 Classic range with a RRP of just £20. All three games were originally published by Microsoft Game Studios, however since their release, each of the studios is no longer owned by the platform holder. Bungie announced they would be privately held soon after the release of Halo 3 in 2007. Bizarre Creations were acquired by Activision in September 2007 and EA bought Bioware in January 2008.

"We are delighted to add three of our finest titles to the Classics range, adding to the exceptional entertainment offering available on the Xbox 360 at outstanding prices," continued Gosen.

The Xbox 360 Arcade SKU has been on store shelves since late 2007 with a price tag of £130 in the UK and €180 in Europe. The Arcade is identical to the other SKU's with the exception of a hard drive present. Instead the Arcade includes a 256MB memory unit in older models; however Jasper models are built with the memory internally.
