With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi right around the corner, it is expected that promotion and marketing will ramp up quite a bit. The latest company to tie their brand to the movie is OtterBox, with a new line of smartphone cases. The bad news for Android users is that the new cases are not for that Galaxy far, far away ... just for the iPhone.
The new Symmetry series sports five different designs available for the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, and 8 Plus. Sorry, iPhone X users; maybe later. The designs are:
- Storm Trooper
- Gold BB8
- Rebel Red
- On Ahch-To
- Lord Vader
The heavy-duty cases, one of the hallmarks of an Otterbox, still sell for a premium price. The iPhone 7 and 8 cases will retail for $44.95, while the Plus version of both models will run $10 more at $54.95. Pre-orders have started on the official site, with shipping scheduled to begin on December 1, two weeks before the movie is scheduled to premiere.
No word on if the promotion will be expanded to Samsung's flagship phones or the iPhone X, so these may be your ... Last Hope.
