What was the last movie you watched? (2013 Edition)

My missus worked on world War Z and her and her mate got caught up in the filming of one of the crazy Zombie stampede scenes when the Assistant director didn't see them crossing the set. Said she'd never been so traumatized haha!

Latest fil i saw was 'Full Metal Jacket' discovered my DVD in a box and couldn't not watch it. Still a brilliant film. 9/10.

A lot of this was filmed in my home town, with Brad Pitt even ordering 700 pasties for the extras. However, it was still a terrible film. The cinematography was average to poor, the plot was appalling and there just wasn't anything to make it enjoyable to watch. It was like Resident Evil only done badly.

I picked this up expecting it to be another Michael Bay signature explosions riddled, overly top action sequences mindless flick but it turned out to be really good. In fact the premise of the movie reminded me of Tarantino's work in its 'all hell breaks loose' and totally insane and unpredictable characters. Even though the movie reminds you multiple times its a true story, I couldn't believe it until the credits rolled and it shows you the real people the characters portrayed. One of the best performance by Dwayne Johnson to date.

7/10

The new Riddick, and I was very disappointed with it. 3/5

Just to help put this in perspective for myself, what do you rate the original Pitch Black?

^ You either sleep really late or wake up really early! :P

The latest film that I have seen at the cinema : Elysium. Jodie Foster was great in the film.

The latest film that I have seen at home : Star Trek Into Darkness (seen it at the cinema, too).

Probably 4.8/5. Brilliant. I just didn't like the new one.

Thanks. I liked the original as well, so I will probably mirror you thoughts on the new one, unfortunately. I had high hopes for it.

When Microsoft 365 has high confidence the From header is forged, the message is identified as spoofed. https://learn.microsoft.com/en...g-protection-spoofing-about
    • I sort of agree with you on that. I had a telescope - a real hefty thing, although only around 500CHF - that got me so fascinated about the stars and planets. I would stare for hours, amazed that I could see the craters of the moon or the rings of Saturn in "realtime" (quotations because, y'know, speed of light and whatnot). A friend of mine has a telescope like the one mentioned in the review, and the pictures are amazing to look at. But there is something missing for me. I may as well just go to NASA's website and look through their gallery.
    • As opposed to catching bad press because it's the engine's fault? Unreal has all the tools a dev needs to optimize their game, Epic isn't gonna hold their hand to make sure they use them. Also, Epic isn't forcing anyone to use Lumen, Nanite or super high resolution meshes and textures. Just because Nanite can render meshes with millions of polygons doesn't mean you should use it like that, in fact, Epic recommends you avoid doing that. Most of the stuttering can easily be fixed by cutting down on unique materials by using master materials, using instanced meshes or combining meshes, generating a thorough PSO cache to allow shader pre-compilation and also managing what must be loaded and unloaded at runtime. It's up to the developer to set all that up properly, and no, Unreal or any other engine can't do any of that for you.
