Incl my rating.

What a yawn fest, IMDB link for those who care.

The only Trivia mention on IMDB is that it was supposed to be a comedy/horror. If they had stuck with that idea it may have worked.

Killing Them Softly (2012)

3/5

Could have been great in the hands of Ritchie or Tarantino. It's good up to the point where James Gandolfini joins the movie. Not that he is bad just that the character he is playing is useless.

Promised Land (2012)

3/5

Okay i guess but terribly one sided and predictable.

Just watched this, was hoping Bruce would have had a bigger part in the film but it was alright :p I agree with your rating :)

The SFX is awful in some scenes but it's one of those traditional 80's slasher films

Watched Elysium today. I was so bored almost right away :/ Would not recommend.

My favourite movie in the past few weeks was World War Z. Forget about the book, it just has the same name that is all. However if you just watch the movie for what it is then it is quite good. It is paced well, the special effects are good, it isn't overkill on the gore like most zombie films. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected too mostly due to the excellent pacing of the film. It is also quite nicely shot although nothing amazing. If you like zombie films it is a must, if you like thillers I would highly recommend.

All the films I have seen recently with out of 10 ratings

Broken City 6.5/10 (enjoyable although the plot is a little all over the place at times)

Django Unchained 9/10 (brilliant, fantastic performances by all)

Fast and Furious 6 6/10 (another F&F film so you know what to expect, not as good as 5 although it sets up for 7 quite nicely in a mid-end-credits scene)

Identity Thief 7/10 (pretty good comedy)

Insidious 7.5/10 (I really enjoyed this, can't wait to see part 2)

Mama 7/10 (another great horror film, relies a bit too much on jumpy scenes)

Man of Steel 5/10 (the fight scenes look like a video game and it felt like it was trying to be like the Nolan Batman films (I know he was a producer) but honestly I don't see why this is so great but people slate things like Transformers, both are over the top and rely on showing us how good Hollywood are at using SFX to destroy buildings)

Oblivion 8/10 (I actually really enjoyed this film, I didn't expect too but it was a pretty nice throw back to old sci-fi films)

Olympus Has Fallen 6/10 (fun action movie and better than White House Down)

Side Effects 8.5/10 (great thiller)

The Call 5/10 (predictable although quite enjoyable)

The Conjuring 7/10 (very good although I enjoyed Insidious a little bit more)

The Place Beyond the Pinds 8/10 (great watch albeit a little too long)

Warm Bodies 6/10 (was expecting a little more to be honest, not awful though)

Welcome to the Punch 6/10 (a fun waste of a couple of hours but nothing special)

White House Down 4/10 (I preferred Olympus Has Fallen a lot more, sorry Channing)

Yea Elysium is a poorly scripted film, I was looking forward to it but its like a very bad version of RoboCop

It felt like a bad mixture of a sort of Halo inspired movie (Elysium is basically the Halo!), Robocop and District 9 (same director). It was paced badly. They didn't do into detail as to the motives behind Jodie Foster's decisions which just made it a pretty boring film which basically just meant they put Matt Damon is a Robocop suit and fly him to space.

Then at the end he has some sudden realisation about facing death and sacrificing himself for a stupid plot device designed just to kill him off, they could "reatomize" the girl with cancer but not extract some data from his brain without killing him? yet he had an exo-skeleton attached to his nervous system?! Ugh awful writing even for a Hollywood space action film.

L?on.

It was a good movie, I enjoyed it, yet there was something in it that repulsed me.

A solid 4/5.

Read the book, Leon has sex with the girl in the book who's apparently only 12 years old.. Doesnt suprise me they removed that part from the movie, but the underlying awkwardness still shows well i think..

I believe it was indeed the almost-pedophile plot that put me off. Then again the movie has a pretty high score so I thought that's just me being a perv.

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
    • Maybe ? DLSS Swapper (can swap the DLSS/FSR/XeSS versions) as long as the game (typically online/competitive) doesn't checks for file tampering. You can try different version(s) or update if not the current version of the FSR. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper
