AT&T Windows Phone 8 pre-orders may start October 21st

AT&T has already confirmed that it will be selling a number of Windows Phone 8-based products, including the Lumia 920 from Nokia, shown above. Now a new report claims that pre-orders for AT&T's Windows Phone 8 devices may be starting up in less than two weeks.

The Verge reports, via unnamed sources, that people will be able to start purchasing Windows Phone 8 devices from AT&T starting on Sunday, October 21st. That will also include the Windows Phone 8X smartphone from HTC. Microsoft has yet to officially confirm when any Windows Phone 8 devices will start to go on sale, but it will be holding a launch event for Windows Phone 8 in San Francisco on October 29th. The devices themselves are expected to be shipped in early November.

The report also claims that AT&T will begin taking pre-orders on October 21st for two upcoming Windows-based tablets, the Windows RT-based ASUS VivoTab RT and the Windows 8-based Samsung ATIV Smart PC. The tablets themselves will apparently be ready at AT&T's stores on October 26th, the official launch date for Windows 8.

The report did not reveal pricing for any of these AT&T-based devices.
