HP announces the Elite Dragonfly G2 and the Elite Dragonfly Max

Elite Dragonfly G2

Today, HP is announcing a round of new business PCs from across its Elite brand. You might recall that at last year's CES, the company introduced the Elite Dragonfly G2. Well, now it's announcing that product again. What was announced last year never actually shipped, although some of the new features did. Still, we never saw the promised 5G connectivity or 10th-gen Intel Core processors.

The product being announced today is essentially the same as the Elite Dragonfly G2 that was announced a year ago, except instead of Comet Lake processors, it's getting 11th-generation 'Tiger Lake'. It still comes with optional 4G or 5G, Tile integration to help you find your laptop, and most importantly, it weighs under a kilogram with its machined magnesium design.

Elite Dragonfly Max

And then there's the all-new Elite Dragonfly Max. While the name probably leads you to believe that it's bigger, it's not. It still has a 13.3-inch screen and optional Sure View Reflect privacy protection, although it has HP Eye Ease. It does come in two colors with a new Sparkling Black variant, while both come in the original Dragonfly Blue color. It also comes with a 5MP webcam, instead of the 1.2MP HD webcam in the regular Elite Dragonfly.

Both the Elite Dragonfly G2 and the Elite Dragonfly Max will be available this month, although pricing will be announced later.

EliteBook 840 G8 Aero

If you're looking for something light but not quite so premium, that's where the HP EliteBook 840 G8 Aero comes in. Promising to be the world's lightest mainstream 14-inch business PC weighing in at 2.5 pounds, it has 11th-gen processors, Tile integration, Wi-Fi 6, optional 5G, Sure View Reflect, and more. The magnesium chassis is made out of 90% recycled materials. It will be available in March with pricing to be announced later.

Elite x2 G8

Finally, HP has some minor refreshes on some other PCs. The Elite x2 G8 is getting a spec bump, and both the EliteBook x360 1030 G8 and EliteBook x360 1040 G8 are getting optional 5G. The Elite x2 is coming in April, while both EliteBook x360 1000 laptops are coming this month, with pricing coming later.
