Microsoft will continue to accept Bitcoin in the Windows Store

Yesterday, we reported that Microsoft was no longer accepting Bitcoin as a method to pay for content on Windows and Xbox. Today, Microsoft is stating that the firm does still accept Bitcoin, and that the Microsoft web site that said that they won't was accidental.

Microsoft issued the following statement to Softpedia, who discovered the original story:

We continue to support Bitcoin for adding money to your Microsoft Account which can be used for purchasing content in the Windows and Xbox stores. We apologize for inaccurate information that was inadvertently posted to a Microsoft site, which is currently being corrected.

It's impossible to tell for sure if the firm is backtracking or if it was really accidental that they said what they did. Nevertheless, fans of the digital currency can once again rejoice.
