New Google Pixel 2 XL render shows off a handset that is missing an important feature

We have seen some pretty exciting pieces of information about Google's upcoming successor to the Pixel and Pixel XL. If the initially leaked render of the handset is to be believed, the Pixel 2 XL should be a worthy successor, offering a familiar style with modern design elements. While things appeared to be on track for a sure fire winner, it looks as though a new render has popped up online that shows off a handset that omits one important feature.

If the new render that was modeled off of factory CAD designs is accurate, it looks as though Google will be eliminating the headphone jack on the upcoming handset. While this isn't an uncommon trend, it has become quite an unpopular one with consumers.

While nothing is set in stone and these are just unconfirmed, unofficial leaks, there is valid evidence that could see the return of the headphone jack, if a recently leaked case image is accurate. But the source that has supplied the new render has had a fairly reliable track record in the past, which could mean that when the Pixel XL successor arrives later in the year, it could be without that coveted headphone jack.
