Palm to Use Windows Mobile on Treo Phones

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that on Monday, Palm will reveal a version of its popular Treo smartphone which runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0. The Treo 700w features a one megapixel camera, EV-DO, and Bluetooth. Engadget, a popular gadget weblog, has a full writeup, including pictures, of the device.

Palm has run into several issues over the past few years. In 2003, the company spun off into two, PalmOne and PalmSource, PalmOne continued hardware development while PalmSource developed the Palm OS. PalmOne has since renamed and Japanese company, Access Co, bought PalmSource earlier this year.
