Samsung starts accepting new registrations to test Android 7.0 Nougat beta

Samsung launched its latest Galaxy Beta Program this month, allowing users to test Android 7.0 Nougat on its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge flagships. Only a limited number of users were permitted to sign up before the company closed registrations - but it's now opened up new slots for those wishing to test the upcoming update.

As SamMobile reports, Samsung is now accepting new applications in the UK to join the Galaxy Beta Program and register your handset for its Nougat previews. The company previously said that it would accept registrations on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you're thinking of signing up, don't wait too long to do so.

And Brits aren't the only ones to get an extra chance to get a taste of that Nougat goodness. Samsung has also confirmed that it will open a new wave of registrations for those in the US later this week.

So far, Samsung's Nougat beta remains limited to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge; and some models - like the Olympic Games Limited Edition, and Batman Injustice Edition - are excluded from the Beta Program. Samsung is testing Android 7.0 internally for the Galaxy Note5, S6, S6 edge and Tab S2, but it hasn't yet released a public beta for any of those devices.

After releasing its first Nougat preview in early November, Samsung followed up with a minor update a week later, and its third beta release arrived a few days ago. We still don't know when Samsung plans to officially begin upgrading its devices to Android 7.0, though; and in the meantime, Google is already preparing to start rolling out Android 7.1.1 next week.
