Sega is bringing back its classic arcade games to the PlayStation 2, from Afterburner to Golden Axe. While most of the re-releases don't show any substantial changes, it seems that the Outrun remake will be no simple rehash. Although the game will have players go through branching checkpoints as in the original, the graphics will be redone in 3D, so there won't be bitmapped canyons passing by. The game will also include a rival car, so time won't be the only thing you're racing against.
