Microsoft has announced details of its third annual Edge Web Summit, which will take place a little later this year than in previous years. It was last held in San Francisco in April 2016, shortly after the company's Build developer conference.
This year, the Edge Web Summit is heading to Seattle, close to Microsoft's global headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The firm describes the one-day event as "your one stop to see what's next for the web on Windows." It will include "a closer look at what's new and what's next for Microsoft Edge", following its most recent browser announcements at last month's Build 2017 conference.
Microsoft also highlighted other details of what to expect from the Edge Web Summit:
We’ll dive deep into what’s new in EdgeHTML, the Chakra JavaScript engine, and the user experience of Microsoft Edge.
You’ll learn how to use exciting new web platform features like Service Worker, Web Authentication, and CSS Grid to build modern, performant experiences with native-like capabilities. And you’ll have an opportunity to try out next-generation experiences built with technologies like Progressive Web Apps, WebVR, and lots more.
Best of all, you’ll find great opportunities for networking during and after the event. You’ll make new friends and valuable connections with passionate developers from the Seattle web community and around the world. You’ll also get to know the team that builds Microsoft Edge, and make sure your voice is heard as we chart our course for future releases.
The Microsoft Edge Web Summit will take place on September 13, 2017. Registration for those wishing to attend the event will open next month at dev.microsoftedge.com.
