Was more entertaining than I had originally thought

7/10

I think if they stopped the movie when ViVi shot the Wolf - then it would have been oK - the whole last 15 minutes were like an attempt to show the movie had depth --  I just wished it went another way.

*** SPOILER ALERT (kinda) ***

Now, if they let Kevin Costner live only if he continued to do jobs for them - and we got to see him be some kind of awesome assassin - that would have been cool - or maybe thats what I was originally hoping for - I dunno.

The Mummy resurrected,

0/10

total crap, I'd rather have my own balls served to me roasted, than sit through that again

I think I saw someone do that on the Deep Web -

Godzilla.

10/10.

Absolutely perfect.

  • Bryan Cranston - Perfect for the job. Spoiler - Pity he had to die so early. Same with Juliette Binoche.
  • Aaron Taylor-Johnson - Perfect for the job (No, he doesn't have to be some delicate subtle wallflower with complex emotional traits. I think he does his job just fine: Spoiler  He plays a slightly detached son observing his supposedly crazy dad, and then he plays a sailor who wants to go back home, but through blundering luck, gets to where he wants to go, but  unfortunately happens to be the right man for the job.Massive spoiler He still fails though. )
  • Elizabeth Olsen - surprisingly good as a character that literally is only there to either be terrified or be nice to Aaron T-J.

  • Godzilla - They nailed it. His appearances were appropriately dramatic, nicely framed/set-up, and limited enough that they didn't just become an orgy of glittery fireballs (Hello, Transformers). And he looks great.
  • Muto - now that was a nice terrifying monster. Spoiler And it was nice to see two of them, replete with sexual dimorphism. A horny couple popping nuclear warheads into their bits, destroying a city so they can have kids. What's not to like?

All the reviewers who were moaning about a lack of depth to the story and how it didn't contain enough anti-nuclear propaganda I feel completely missed the point of the (yes, somewhat limited) story, while injecting their own (liberal) biases into the film.

It's a movie about primordial apex predators being awakened by the misadventures of man. It shows man as powerless against the massive forces of nature. Bullets, missiles, nuclear *******  bombs do absolutely nothing. The puny humans are elaborated just enough for us to feel sorry for their powerlessness, and shows that despite their efforts, nature keeps marching on.

And I loved final battle. Even if the rest of the movie was terrible, that right there was A++ 11/10 worth the price of admission.

Use spoiler tags for recently released films, plase.

Please use spoiler tags when talking about recently released movies.

If you've just watched the Sixth Sense (a very popular movie but still 15 years old), you can be a bit more liberal with spoilers (within reason) but tags are still the best way to go. Godzilla (which came out this week), PLEASE USE THE TAGS.

Use common sense, treat others like you would like to be treated and don't spoil the experience for those that haven't watched it.

    • LOL, expect to take you seriously? The $7k myth? Ignoring the BILLIONS Qatar spends every year to influence American politicians and universities? Claim terrorists are "journalists" when they are members of Hamas and even have Hamas funerals with their pictures in Hamas garb. "Snipe kids" when they don't, meanwhile the other side sends kids into battle (and their mothers praise their martyrdom) and uses them as human shields and their schools as rocket launch sites and entrances to their tunnels - which they took all their foreign aid to build at the expense of their people. Base their operations at hospitals - violating every rule of war and making said hospital legitimate military targets? AND THEY KILL LGBTQ+ PEOPLE - listen to their own testimonies themselves, their interviews on what they do to them! They're proud of it! Your talking points are all BS and you know it. Stop defending another Islamic dictatorship that uses terror as their primary policy.
    • BetterMediaInfo 1.0.0 by Razvan Serea BetterMediaInfo is a modern, open-source graphical user interface for MediaInfo, designed to improve metadata inspection workflows for audio and video files. It extracts and presents technical parameters such as codec profiles, bitrates, resolution, frame rate, stream ordering, and container-level attributes in a structured, readable layout. The interface is built with clarity and responsiveness in mind, supporting drag-and-drop functionality. It preserves the full feature set of the MediaInfo library while making the data easier to parse for users working in media management, encoding validation, or post-production environments. In short, BetterMediaInfo takes the power of MediaInfo and makes it much easier to use. Whether you're checking video quality, verifying audio settings, or just curious about a file's details, it gives you clear, organized info without the clutter. Requires Microsoft Edge WebView2, which is included in most Windows versions. BetterMediaInfo 1.0.0 changelog: Added an Image stream table to the card view and detail view, including type, color space, resolution, and size fields. • We wrote about it here https://www.neowin.net/news/browser-vendors-pen-open-letter-to-microsoft-saying-enough-is-enough/ the open letter itself is here https://browserchoicealliance.org/open-letter/
    • Someone forgot to mention EDR in the title ? I think I will not click anymore on the articles written by this author. All are click bait.
    • Browser vendors including Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi have jointly written an open letter to Microsoft saying enough is enough regarding Edge being pushed on Windows users without consent. Microsoft makes it difficult to change the default browser, promotes Edge throughout Windows 11, and has made the uninstall process unnecessarily complicated compared to other apps. Does anyone have more details on what exactly the open letter demands and whether any regulatory action is being considered? Also curious whether this could lead to antitrust investigations similar to what happened with Internet Explorer back in the day. Would love to hear from anyone following this closely.
